Abstract

Heavy-duty diesel vehicle idling consumes fossil fuel and reduces atmospheric quality at idle period, but its restriction cannot simply be proscribed. A comprehensive tailpipe emissions database to describe idling impacts is not yet available. This paper presents a substantial data set that incorporates results from DI multi-cylinders Fiat diesel engine. Idle emissions of CO, hydrocarbon (HC), oxides of nitrogen (NOx), smoke opacity, carbon dioxide (CO₂) and noise have been reported, when three EGR ratios (10, 20 and 30%) were added to suction manifold.

This article conclude a theoretical study for the possibility to produce additional electric power from Iraqi steam power plants by  cutting – off high-pressure feed water heaters .  Three separated steam power plants which Dura , south –Baghdad and Nasria were studied . The investigation showed the possibity of increasing the electric power from 10 to 15% for Dura and Nasria , whereas 6% for south – Baghdad . According to the nowadays of operation to Iraqi steam power plants , the results showed that by cutting–off high  pressure feed water heaters we can generate additional electric power about 250 MW during 3-4 hrs. daily. As polymer affects hardening of plate, meaning it acted as a basic binder in this work and gave a smooth texture, ease of carrying and workmanship in different sizes and shapes. PVA was studied at the rates of PVA %4, %5, %6.66, %10, %20, results showed that 6.66% is the best percentage, through tensile and bending tests, this percentage was use with polyurethane with rates of PU 1, 0.5, 0.333, 0.25, 0.2 It is found that the ratio 0.333 is the best ratio to give good mechanical properties of bending, tensile and elongation.
