Psychological Well-being for Elderly People at Geriatric Centers in Baghdad City
...Show More Authors

Objective: To evaluate the levels of Psychological well-being among elderly people and To find out the relationship between socio-demographic characteristics and psychological well-being among elderly people who live in Geriatric centers. Methodology: A descriptive study in which evaluation approach is applied to achieve the objectives of the study the period of the study was from 29 December 2014 to 25 may 2015, The sample is non-probability (purposive sample) of 60 elderly people and selecte according to criteria of sample and for the purpose of the study , ( 40 ) are from Al Rashad and ( 20 ) Sleekh Geriatric centers, A questionnaire which include from 50 items which are distribute across 2 main parts A- The socio-demographic characteristics: ( 8 ) items and B- psychological well-being: ( 42 ) items , Data analysis by using program of SPSS version 20, Descriptive statistical analysis procedures (frequency, percentage, and Statistical table) and inferential statistical analysis procedures (Chi-square test for determine the association between the elderly socio – demographic characteristics and psychological wellbeing ). Results: The results of the study: 58.3% of elderly there age are from 65 to 70 years which is most elderly people in Geriatric centers, The source of income different 51.7% from them is from retirement salary and major causes to been in Geriatric centers 56.7% due to family problem, the high level of psychological wellbeing 21.6% are female , 16.7% of them widowed ,23.3% from them are saying enough in income and there is a significant association between psychological wellbeing and income and source of income. Recommendations: according to the results the study Recommends that Psychological wellbeing is one from most objects that’s studies in advanced world, but in Iraq, there is lack of study about it, so most to increase research about it and work with other organizations, including the media, ministry of health, community organization to improve positive public attitudes towards elderly people and promote a better mental health for them .

The Innovative Method for Vaccine Preparation Against Multidrug Resistant and Virulence Acinetobacter baumannii Iraqi Isolates
...Show More Authors

The expanding of the medically important diseases created by multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii warrants the evolve a new methodology for prevention includes vaccination and treatment. Totally of forty-five clinical isolates identified as A.baumannii were obtained from hospitalized patients from three hospital in Baghdad City during the period from February 2016 to August 2016. Followed by diagnosing using different methods. Every strain was tested for susceptibility testing also some important virulence factorswere detected. Two isolates were chosen for the immunization and vaccine model, the first one remittent for most antibiotics except one are too virulence (strong) and the second is less virulent and resistance (weak).Enzyme-

Synthesis and Characterization of Zinc Cobalt Ferrite Embedded into PAN Nanofibers for Humidity Sensing Applications
...Show More Authors

In this work, composite materials were prepared by mixing different concentrations of ferrites with polyacrylonitrile (PAN) polymer. Using the electrospinning technique, these composites were deposited on a p-type silicon wafer. The prepared samples demonstrated nanofibers in both pure PAN polymers and their composites with ferrite. Prior to examining the humidity sensing effectiveness with a percentage of relative humidity at a frequency of 10 kHz, based on ambient temperature and a relative humidity range of 50–100%, the composite nanofibers demonstrated stronger humidity sensing compared to the pure PAN nanofibers, which demonstrated a powerful resistance response. More precisely, the PAN@ferrite nanocomposite showed a broad adsorption

Systematic Study of the Nuclear Structure for Some Exotic Nuclei Using Skyrme–Hartree–Fock Method
...Show More Authors

The ground state charge, neutron, proton and matter densities, the associated nuclear radii and the binding energy per nucleon of 8B, 17Ne, 23Al and 27P halo nuclei have been investigated using the Skyrme–Hartree–Fock (SHF) model with the new SKxs25 parameters. According to the calculated results, it is found that the SHF model with these Skyrme parameters provides a good description on the nuclear structure of above proton-rich halo nuclei. The elastic charge form factors of 8B and 17Ne halo nuclei and those of their stable isotopes 10B and 20Ne are calculated using plane-wave Born approximation with the charge density distributions obtained by SHF model to investigate the effect of the extended charge distributions of proton-rich nucl

Study of Some Mechanical Properties for a Polymer Material Reinforcement with Chip or Powder Copper
...Show More Authors

In this paper, chip and powder copper are used as reinforcing phase in polyester matrix to form composites. Mechanical properties such as flexural strength and impact test of polymer reinforcement copper (powder and chip) were done, the maximum flexural strength for the polymer reinforcement with copper (powder and chip) are (85.13 Mpa) and (50.08 Mpa) respectively was obtained, while the maximum observation energy of the impact test for the polymer reinforcement with copper (powder and chip) are (0.85 J) and (0.4 J) respectively

Testing the New Parameters affecting The Outcome of Extracorporeal Shockwave Lithotripsy for Upper Ureteric Stones
...Show More Authors

Background: Extracorporeal Shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) is widely used in treating patients with ureteralstones because it is effective, safe, and noninvasive. Based on factors such as size and the location of stones, there is a significant variation in the overall stone-free rate (SFR).Aim of the study: To evaluate the effect of ureteral wall thickness (UWT), stone attenuation, the time fromfirst attack of pain till first session of ESWL and stone/ rib density on the outcome of SWL in the treatmentof upper ureteral stones (UUS).Patient and methods: A prospective study when 127 patients with radio-opaque UUS ranging from 7 to 20mm and treated by ESWL were included in this study. The effect of (stone/ 12th rib) density by KUB, ureter

Coupled channels calculations of fusion reactions for 46Ti+64Ni, 40Ca+194Pt and 40Ar+148Sm systems
...Show More Authors

In this work, the fusion cross section ,  fusion barrier distribution  and the probability of fusion  have been investigated by coupled channel method  for the systems 46Ti+64Ni, 40Ca+194Pt and 40Ar+148Sm with semi-classical and quantum mechanical approach using SCF and CCFULL Fortran codes respectively. The results for these calculations are compared with available experimental data. The results show that the quantum calculations agree better with experimental data, especially bellow the Coulomb barrier, for the studied systems while above this barrier, the two codes reproduce the data.
