Objective: The study aims at assessing the food frequency intake and dietary habits for diabetic pregnant
women.
Methodology: A descriptive study is carried out for the period from November4th 2013 to August
25th 2014. A purposive "non-probability" sample of one hundred diabetic pregnant women is selected from
the Diabetic and Endocrine Center in Al-Amarha City. A questionnaire is developed as a tool of data
collection. Content validity of the study instrument is determined through panel of experts. Split-half
reliability technique is used for reliability determination of the study instrument which depicts a reliability
coefficient of (0.79) for the entire scale. A structured interview with each diabetic pregnant woman is
applied for data collection. Data are analyzed through the application of descriptive statistical data analysis
approach of frequency, percent and standard deviation and inferential statistical data analysis approach of
linear regression.
Results: The results of the study indicated that the vast majority of pregnant women have acceptable level
of food frequency intake and dietary habits. Being them pregnant with diabetes, they need to have more
than acceptable level so they can go through a healthy and safe pregnancy, as well as labor and having a
healthy baby without complications.
Recommendations: The study recommends for the initiation of collaboration and coordination between
the Nutrition Research Institute and the Diabetic and Endocrine Center in Al-Amara City concerning the
diabetic pregnant women and their dietary patterns. Further study can be conducted on a large sample size
and nation-wide base.
Diabetic mellitus is one of the main risk factors of fungal infections because poor glycemic control is associated with a high level of glucose in blood and saliva which could be treated as nutrient to fungi. This study aimed to isolate and identification of pathogenic fungi from diabetic patient. 140 samples were taken from different places of human body from the national center of diabetic patients that related to Mustansiriyah University / college of medicine and Al-yarmuk Hospital in Baghdad. 84 sample (60%) tested positive to fungi and 56 sample (40%) tested negative to fungi. The most frequented fungi isolated have been chosen for molecular identification by PCR (Millerozyma farinosa and Candida orthopsilosis) using specific pri

The present work is qualitative descriptive. It aims to examine the idiosyncratic schema when deciphering the selected violence-based panel from Nasser Ibrahim’s caricatures. The researchers accordingly adopted part of Sharifian’s (2011) Cultural Schema model, particularly that part that is concerned with the examining the micro/idiosyncratic level of understanding. The study has revealed that the participants have not only differed among themselves regarding the way a figure is being denotatively conceptualized, they also highlighted different exact conceptualizations for the same figure, such as: using various adjectives that reflect various levels of intensity, emphasizing the behavioral aspect or the appearance of the figure, ado

The purpose of this paper is to evaluate neuromuscular fatigue among elite basketball players in the Iraqi Basketball League using surface electromyography (sEMG) with the Ultium EMG device and the MR3.18 program, and using the Wavelet analysis application with the Continuous Wavelet Transform (CWT) method. The research sample included six advanced players from the Iraqi Elite League, aged (21.50 ±3.67) years, with a body mass of (80.50 ±11.71) kg, and a height of (189.00 ±7.75) cm. Glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c) is a form of haemoglobin used to identify the average concentration of plasma glucose over prolonged periods of time. It is formed in a non-enzymatic pathway by normal exposure of hemoglobin to high levels of plasma glucose, The main alterations observed in the saliva of Type 1 diabetic patients are hyposalivation and alteration in its composition, particularly those related to the levels of glucose. The aim of the present study was to assess the effect of Glycated haemoglobin level on the level of salivary glucose which may have an effect on oral health condition. Materials and methods
