The study was carried out in Specialized Surgery teaching hospital, Ibin Al- Beetar hospital and Ibin Al- Nafees hospital for the period From January 2004 to October 2004 .The study aimed to assess the factors that contribute to lung cancer and to identify the relationship between the variables of the study with lung cancer. A purposive (non-probability) sample of (70) patients with lung cancer was selected for the study. An assessment form was employed for the purpose of the study. Test- retest reliability was employed through computation of Pearson correlation coefficient. Content validity of the assessment was determined through a panel of experts. Data were collected through the interview technique. Data were analyzed through descriptive statistical approach (frequency and percentage) and inferential statistical approach (chi –square). The study showed that the majority of the study sample were (60-69) years old and most of them were male (65.7%) .The level of education was primary graduate (32.9%) and most of them were working in governmental officer. The result of the study showed that smoking is the majors’ factors that contribute to lung cancer. G Protein-Coupled Receptors: Undervalued Targets for Cancer Therapy
...Show More Authors

Despite the G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) being the largest family of signalling proteins at the surface of cells, their potential to be targeted in cancer therapy is still under-utilised. This review highlights the contribution of these receptors to the process of oncogenesis and points to some likely challenges that might be encountered in targeting them. GPCR-signalling pathways are often complex and can be tissue-specific. Cancer cells hijack these communication networks to their proliferative advantage. The role of selected GPCRs in the different hallmarks of cancer is examined to highlight the complexity of targeting these receptors for therapeutic benefit. Our

Helicobacter pylori (HP) is the etiopathogenic agent of gastric and duodenal disorders ranging from gastritis to malignancy. It is also associated with many extraintestinal diseases, including cardiovascular disease and its associated risk factors. To evaluate the link between HP infection and some cardiovascular risk factors by studying the effects of HP infection on body mass index, blood pressure, and serum lipid profile among patients having gastritis with and without HP infection. A crosssectional study included 1214 patients who had gastritis diagnosed by gastroscopy examination. Those patients were in the age range of 30-65 years and they were divided according to their gender into 725 females and 489 males depending on the 1

Abstract
The current study was conducted in the environment of the Martyr Monument Lake in the city center of Baghdad during 2019 to monitor the impact of climatic conditions such as drought, water shortage, high temperatures in the environment of the city and the lack of water flow during the years 2015 to 2018 and their effects on some of the physical and chemical factors of water and the dynamics of the phytoplankton community in the lake environment. Heterogeneity of some studied environmental factors, including air and water temperature, permeability, water depth, pH, DO, BOD5, nutrients, nitrate, NO3, and phosphates were found. The results showed the effect of climate change and the pres
... Show More
