Assessment of Postoperative Nurses' Interventions for the Patients with Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy at Baghdad Teaching Hospitals
...Show More Authors

Objective: The study aimed to assess the postoperative nurses' intervention for the patients with laparoscopic
cholecystectomy and to determine the relationship between Nurses' interventions and their demographic
characteristics.
Methodology: Quantitative design (a descriptive study) was started from 20th November 2012 up to 1st
September 2013. Non-probability (purposive sample) of (50) nurses, who were working in surgical wards, were
selected from Baghdad teaching hospitals (Baghdad Teaching Hospital, Digestives System and Liver Teaching
Hospital, AL-Kindy Teaching Hospital, and AL-Kadhimiyia Teaching Hospita). The data were collected through
the use of a constructed questionnaire, which consisted of two parts; the first part includes the page of
demographic data which contains (10) items and the second part which includes (5) domains in (46) subdomain
of postoperative nurses' interventions for the patients with laparoscopic cholecystectomy, through
direct observant approach by the mean of the designed interventions checklist, Reliability of the questionnaire
was determined through a pilot study and the validity through a panel of (12) experts. Descriptive statistical
analysis procedures (frequency, percentage, mean of score, Standard Deviation and Relative Sufficiency), and
inferential statistical analysis procedures (Reliability Coefficient, contingency coefficient and chi- square test)
were used for the data analysis under application of the statistical package of social science (SPSS) ver. (10.0).
Results: The findings of the study indicated that there is a weak assessment of postoperative nurses'
interventions for the patients with laparoscopic cholecystectomy at Baghdad teaching hospitals, and the
findings indicated that the most of study items responding of questionnaire were (84.78%) significant
differences. There was no significant relationship between nurses' gender, age, years of experience and their
assessment, while there was significant relationship between the level of education, sharing in training sessions
which established (by the hospital, by other hospitals, or by other institutions), duration of the training session,
Number of training sessions and assessment of postoperative nurses' interventions

Recommendations: The study recommended that special training session, concerning all nurses' surgical wards
for postoperative nursing interventions (Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy Patient) at inside or outside Iraq, and
booklets should be designated and presented to all nurses' surgical wards, in addition to increasing the number
of professional nurses' graduate from the colleges of nursing to the enrolled in surgical wards.

Management of Independent Middle Mesial Canal in Mandibular First Molar Using Cone Beam Computed Tomography Imaging as an Adjunct – A Case Report
...Show More Authors

The primary objective of root canal therapy is adequate biomechanical preparation of root canal system followed by 3D obturation.in clinics we are encountered with several anatomical variations, which we need to manage efficiently. One of the major factors responsible for failure of root canal therapy is missed canals. Recent technological advances have given the clinician opportunity to identify anatomical variations and treat them to satisfaction.

A Comparative Study of Pediatric Fracture Shaft Femur Fixating by Plate and Screws Using Lateral Approach Between Subvastus Lateralis and Transvastus Lateralis Outcome
...Show More Authors

BACKGROUND: Femoral shaft fracture is a common fracture in pediatric age group reaching 62% of all fracture shaft femur in children in spite of rapid union rate and successful conservative treatment but some cases need surgical intervention and one of the methods using plate and screw by the lateral approach. AIM: This study aims to compare functional outcome fixation of mid-shaft femur fracture in children by plate and screws between (subvastus lateralis and transvastus lateralis) regarding infection, union, and limitation of knee movement. PATIENT AND METHOD: The study was done on 30 children who had diaphyseal fracture femur in Al-Kindy Teaching Hospital in period (April 2018–April 2020) with 6 months follow-up, and the pa

Transient expression of cauliflower mosaic virus (CaMV) P6-GFP complements a defective CaMV replicon to facilitate viral gene expression, replication and virion formation
...Show More Authors

Over the past decades, several studies have examined the subcellular localization of the cauliflower mosaic virus (CaMV) P6 protein by tagging it with GFP (P6-GFP). These investigations have been essential in the development of models for inclusion body formation, nuclear transport, and microfilament-associated intracellular movement of P6 inclusion bodies for delivery of virions to plasmodesmata. Although it was shown early on that the translational transactivation function of P6-GFP was comparable to wild type P6, it has not been possible to incorporate a P6-GFP gene into an infectious clone of CaMV. Consequently, it has not been possible to formally prove that a P6-GFP fusion is comparable in function to the unmodified P6 protein. Here w

Mixed-ligand complexes of ampicillin derived Schiff base ligand and Nicotinamide: Synthesis, physico-chemical studies, DFT calculation, antibacterial study and molecular docking analysis
...Show More Authors

A novel series of mixed-ligand complexes of the type, [ML1(L2)3]Clx [M= Cr(III), Fe(III), Co(II),Ni(II), Cu(II), Cd(II) and Hg(II), n = 2, 3], was synthesized using Schiff base (HL1) as main ligand, nicotinamide (L2) as secondary ligand, and the corresponding metal ions in 1:3:1 molar ratio. The main ligand, HL1 was prepared by the interaction of ampicillin drug and 4-chlorobenzophenone. The synthesized mixed ligand complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, UV-Vis, FT-IR,1H-NMR,13C-NMR and TG/DTG studies. In the mixed-ligand complexes, the Schiff base ligand, HL1 showed coordination to the central metal ion in tridentate manner via azomethine nitrogen, β-lactam ring oxygen and deprotonated carboxylic oxygen atoms, whereas the sec

The present study aims to give some details about the normal anatomical and histological structure of the liver, pancreas and gall bladder in Cyprinus carpio Linnaeus, 1758 and Mesopotamichthys sharpeyi (Günther, 1874). Anatomical results revealed that the liver of C. carpio is a reddish-brown in color, located in the anterior part of abdominal cavity and dispersed between most of the intestines, which is divided into two lobes; while in M. sharpeyi the liver is light brown in color located in the anterior part of abdominal cavity and extends to the end of the intestinal tract with two lobs. The gallbladder situated in the right side of the liver in both species. Histological results in both species showed that the liver consists

Electrochemical Polymerization and Biological Activity of 4-(Nicotinamido)-4-Oxo-2-Butenoic Acid as An Anticorrosion Coating on A 316L Stainless Steel Surface
...Show More Authors

In this study, poly4-(nicotinamido)-4-oxo-2-butenoic acid (PNOE) was prepared by the electro polymerization of 4-(nicotinamido)-4-oxo-2-butenoic acid (NOE) monomer on a 316 stainless steel (St.St) which acts as an anticorrosion coating.  Fourier transforms infrared (FTIR), atomic force microscopy (AFM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and cyclic voltammetry were used to diagnose the structure and the properties of the prepared polymer layer. The corrosion behavior of the uncoated and coated 316  St.St were evaluated by using an electro chemical polarization technique in 0.2 M hydrochloric acid  solution as a corrosive medium at a temperature range of 293 to 323 K. Nano materials, such as nano ZnO and graphene were added in di
