Objectives: To assess the coping strategies of parents of children with autism and the relationship of
different strategies with their educational level.
Methodology: A descriptive analytical study was carried out from Feb. 14th, 2013 through April, 10th
, 2013 in
several private rehabilitation centers of autism in Baghdad city. A non- probability (purposive) sample of 100
autistic children and 100 of their parents (father or mother) was assessed by a questionnaire which consisted of
two parts; the first part is concerned with the demographic characteristics of the child and demographic
characteristics of the parents; the second part consisted of 50 questions about coping strategies that were
distributed on 8 domains. The data were statistically analyzed by descriptive and analytical methods to find
frequency of the use of different coping strategies and their association with the educational level of parents.
Results: Planned problem solving strategy was found to has the higher chance of use by parents of autistic
children followed by seeking social support, whereas distancing strategy has the lower chance of use. Educational
level of parents was significantly associated with the use of positive coping strategies.
Recommendation: The study recommends the establishment of parents' self-help groups (support groups) and
educational programs for parents to improve their coping strategies.

This study was conducted to know the effect of some phenotype characteristics of corn plant on infection by (CSB), using 13 genotypes of corn plant, planting during autumn season 1997 and 1998. The result revealed that the mean of plant height (with male flowering) was (183-219) cm, the mean of leaf No./ plant in all genotypes was (16-18) leaf but the leaf area of plant was (4350-6249) cm2, there were significant differences of phenotype characteristics between genotypes ,the percentage of infection by (CSB) was (5.9-35.9),% the result showed that the phenotype characteristics had non effect on the infection percentage by (CSB) and the correlation coefficient was not significant.
This study was conducted to determine the ability of water treatment system (Vortisand) to reduce some chemical and physical properties for tigris river raw water, It consisted of turbidity, electrical conductivity, pH, total hardness, calcium Hardness as well as temperature in order to determine the unit`s efficiency for reducing their concentration as compared to those in the water produced by some classical potable water projects (Dora and Wathba) in Baghdad. The study aimed to identify career engagement among school principals, the researcher used descriptive approach and reached the study sample (230) school, principals. The researcher instruments used: career engagement, has been checked and face validity, and construction and consistency of the instruments using internal consistency Cronbach's alpha The study came to the following findings: - The degree of career engagement among school principals was (29.0200) this refers to a higher level, compared with the theoretical average of (27) and the study showed that the results showed no significant statistical differences between school principals in the level of career engagement due to the variable sex.
