Abstract A descriptive study using evaluation technique was carried at the health organizations concerning STIs/HIV/AIDS, mainly the AIDS Researches and Studies Center in Baghdad and many of the AIDS sections in the Health Directorates in the Governorates throughout the period of May 15th , 2003 through September 30th, 2003( to describe the surveillance system for the period 1993 through 2002). The study aimed to describe the STIs/HIV/AIDS surveillance system in Iraq. System evaluation questionnaire was adopted from WHO and developed for the purpose of this study. Content validity of questionnaire was established through a panel of 12 experts. Interobservor reliability method was carried out by two researchers to establish the reliability of the instrument and Cronbach’s alpha coefficient was computed for such reliability as (0.93). Data were collected through two ways, firstly from the documented information which was available in the health organizations concerning STIs/HIV/AIDS surveillance activities and secondly from the direct interview that was carried out with the health workers who are involved in the surveillance system. The data were analyzed through the application of descriptive statistical analysis (frequency and percentage). The study reveals that the activities of the surveillance system are covering all over the country through its distributed health facilities. The surveillance system is focusing on capture, control and prevent transmission of Syphilis, HIV and AIDS as a health events of devastating consequences on the patient and community. Also it succeeds in identification and coverage of the risk groups. National regulation notification of new HIV+ve case is very rapid to control the case and to protect the community . Control measures are so effective in preventing the transmission of these diseases. Three levels (Peripheral , Intermediate and Central) are identified to conduct the surveillance activities all over the country, through which special schedule of time is depending in reporting the information . Feedback among these levels is taking the forms of sessions, seminars for the staff involved in the surveillance, the community and field visits to the sentinel sites. The study recommended that high technical communication means may be depended in reporting . Lastly, surveillance is to be included as a subject in the curriculum of the Community Health Nursing as well as for Community Medicine for undergraduate and post-graduate students.
One of the globalization results is (VAT) , so it is important to consider its results and impact on the tax system.
The Iraqi economy having wittnisd an acute transition period , still in need for a better care in aim to back it, especialy from the tax system.
The research is concerned with the (VAT) and its details –And for five chapters all the problomes connect are displayed .But yet the new system does not comply with the modern development and this is one of the defects of (VAT) in Iraq.
The history of (VAT)was also studied mentiorned and studied.
As a conclusion (VAT) is one of the m

L-carnitine has important roles in oxidative stress, energy production and glucose metabolism. It affects insulin resistance as decreased plasma carnitine level has been well reported in type II diabetes mellitus. Hence, it means L-carnitine may reduce insulin resistance which is found in PCO disease. Objective: This study aims to measure the level of L-carnitine and insulin resistance in both obese and non- obese patients with PCOS. Patients and Methods: Sixty women within the reproductive age with PCOS (30 obese and 30 non- obese) were recruited from the Gynecology and Obstetrics Outpatient Clinic in Baghdad T

Eighty-five Iraqi women, with age range (19-45) years, were divided into three groups; first group included 33 women with PCOS; second group included 30 women without PCOS; while third group included 22 fertile women as controls. The clinical data [age, body mass index (BMI), and menstrual status] have been recorded. Blood samples were collected to determine the levels of reproductive hormones [estradiol (E2), luteinizing hormone (LH), and follicle stimulating hormone (FSH)]; and thyroid hormones [triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxin (T4)]. Also, autoimmune thyroid antibodies assessment h

This is frequently accompanied by the production of filament airborne mycelium. Actinomycetes are well-known microcolonies for creating antibiotics and other critical bioactive components that are beneficial to humans. Approximately 70% to 80% of commercially available medications and antiviral active compounds have been synthesized so far. Secondary metabolites produced by microbes have the potential to be used in a variety of sectors, including antimicrobial agents, enzyme technology, pigment manufacture, antitumor agents against cancer cells, and toxin pr

Background: The main purpose of this study is to find if there is any correlation between the level of C-reactive protein (CRP) in gingival crevicular fluid with its serum level in chronic periodontitis patients and to explore the differences between them according to the probing depth. Materials and methods: Forty seven male subjects enrolled in this study. Thirty males with chronic periodontitis considered as study group whom further subdivided according to probing depth into subgroup 1 with pocket depth ≤6mm, subgroup 2 with pocket depth >6mm. The other 17 subjects considered as controls. For all subjects, clinical examination where done for periodontal parameters plaque index (PLI), gingival index (GI), bleeding on probing (BOP),

Paraoxonase-1 (PON1) is an antioxidant enzyme associated with high-density lipoprotein, and its genetic polymorphisms may alter enzyme activity. This study aimed to investigate the association between PON1 L55M polymorphism (rs854560) and PCOS in Iraqi women. Methods: This case-control study included 80 women aged 20–35 years who were in good general health and matched for age and body mass index (BMI). Genomic DNA was extracted using a commercial kit. The PON1 L55M polymorphism was amplified by polymerase chain reaction and genotyped by direct sequen

Yet, there is an unmet need for registries focused on sex differences in CVD, as the first step toward patient-centered trials, guidelines, and protocols. To the best of our knowledge, there has been no prior registry focusing exclusively on CVD in women with sex-focused research questions and methodology thus far.
