Effectiveness of Dietary Habits on Urolithiatic Patients at Urinary Units in Baghdad Teaching Hospitals
...Show More Authors

Objectives: The study aims at finding the effectiveness of dietary habits on urolithiatic patients at Urinary Units
in Baghdad Teaching Hospitals.
Methodology: A quantitative descriptive study was conducted to identify the effectiveness of dietary habits on
(100) of urolithiatic patients in Urinary Units at Baghdad Teaching Hospitals starting from May 2011 to Sep.
2012.Data were collected through the use of constructed check list of the questionnaire format, which
consists of two parts: - The first part: is related to the patient's demographic variables ; the second part: is
constructed to serve the purpose of the study (effectiveness of the dietary habits). The total number of items
of the questionnaire is (69) items. Validity of the questionnaire format was determined through a panel of (23)
experts and the reliability is determined through a pilot study. Descriptive statistical analysis procedures (the
frequency, and the percentage) is used for the data analysis of this study.
Results: The data of this study shows that the urinary tract system (UTS) stone formation (SF) is: {Activated
(increased) by fried foods, soft drinks (Pepsi cola and Coca cola), tea, red meat, eggs, ice cream, tomato,
potato, pepper, urinary tract infection (UTI), obesity, hot areas, low education; and, Inhibited (decreased) by
water, coffee, cacao, natural raisin and apricot ( fresh, syrup, dry), Artificial beverage (Seven up, Miranda),
herbs, milk, cheese and butter, white meat (chicken, fish), vitamins}. So, it would be concluded that there is a
clear effect of ''dietary habit'' on urinary stone formation.
Recommendations: The study recommended that the patients should be given booklets or manual guides
including the following (Type of his/her urinary stone. Accordingly should be advised to: Reduction of his/her
dietary habit by preventing certain materials and increasing others to avoid stone recurrence; Advised to drink
liquids especially water 3-4 l/day, Never delay urine voiding, and add the Milk to tea to decrease tea's
promotion to stone formation because the tea is high content of oxalate).

Enhancing the Ability of The Square Footing to Resist Positive and Negative Eccentric Inclined Loading Using an Inclined Skirt
...Show More Authors

Laboratory model tests were performed to investigate the behavior of shallow and inclined skirted foundations placed on sandy soil with R.D%=30 and the extent of the impact of the positive and negative eccentric-inclined loading effect on them. To achieve the experimental tests, it was used a box of (600×600) mm cross-sectional and 600mm in height and a square footing of (50*50) mm and 10 mm in thickness attached to the skirt with Ds=0.5B and various an angle of (10°, 20°, 30°). The results showed that using skirts leads to a significant improvement in load-carrying capacity and decreased settlement. In addition, when the skirt angle increased, the ultimate load improved. Load-carrying capacity decreased with increasing eccentri

Investigating the structural, optical, and thermal behavior of CuCl2 incorporated PVP/glycerin-based polymer electrolytes for energy storage applications
...Show More Authors

Polymer electrolyte films composed of PVP and PVP/glycerin with varying concentrations of CuCl2 (10, 20, and 30 wt.%) were synthesized using the solution casting method. The synthesized electrolyte films were characterized using FTIR, XRD, UV-Vis, DSC, and TGA techniques. FTIR spectroscopy revealed an O-H stretching vibration of PVP around 3300 cm(-1), which experienced broadening and a reduction in intensity upon the introduction of glycerin and CuCl2. XRD analysis displayed a characteristic peak at 2 theta similar to 20 degrees, with the peak shifting towards higher angles and a slight decrease in intensity as the CuCl2 concentration increased, indicating a disruption of the crystalline structure of the host matrix. UV-Vis analysis reveal

Comprehensive study of Cu2⁺-ion conducting PVA/PVP/glycerin-based gel polymer electrolytes: structural, electrical, dielectric, and optical properties
...Show More Authors

This study investigates the impact of copper sulfate (CuSO4) doping and glycerin plasticization on the structural, electrical, dielectric, and optical properties of poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA), polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP), and glycerin gel polymer electrolytes (GPEs). The GPEs were prepared using a solution casting method with varying CuSO4 concentrations (5 and 10 wt.%). X-ray diffraction analysis revealed the semi-crystalline nature of the polymer blend and also confirmed the presence of CuSO4. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy confirmed the miscibility of PVA, PVP, and glycerin through interchain hydrogen bonding and indicated the successful incorporation of Cu2+ ions into the polymer blend matrix. The PVA/PVP/glycerin blend containi

Abstract
<title>Rationale, aims and objectives

Little is known about hesitancy to receive the COVID‐19 vaccines. The objectives of this study were (1) to assess the perceptions of healthcare workers (HCWs) and the general population regarding the COVID‐19 vaccines, (2) to evaluate factors influencing the acceptance of vaccination using the health belief model (HBM), and (3) to qualitatively explore the suggested intervention strategies to promote the vaccination.

Methods

This was a cross‐sectional study based on electronic survey data that was collected in Iraq during December first‐19th, 2020. The electronic surve

Assessment of vegetal cover changes using Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) and subtractive (NDVI) time-series, Karbala province, Iraq
...Show More Authors

Karbala province regarded one part significant zones in Iraq and considered an economic resource of vegetation such as trees of fruits, sieve and other vegetation. This research aimed to utilize Normalized Difference Vegetation index (NDVI) and Subtracted (NDVI) for investigating the current vegetation cover at last four decay. The Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) is the most extensively used satellite index of vegetation health and density. The primary goals of this research are gather a gathering of studied area (Karbala province) satellite images in sequence time for a similar region, these image captured by Landsat (TM 1985, TM 1995, ETM+ 2005 and Landsat 8 OLI (Operational Land Imager) 2015. Abstract<p>Thirteen morphometric characters of catfishSilurus triosteguswere studied from three localities on the Tigris and Shatt al-Arab rivers, Iraq. Monthly samples revealed no significant differences between genders. Positive allometric growths for all morphometric characters studied were observed. This study gives information to fishery biologists about morphometric characters ofS. triostegusfrom the Tigris and Shatt al-Arab rivers to assist in planning of conservation strategies for this fish species.</p>

Wheat straw was modified with malonic acid in order to get low cost adsorbent have a good ability to remove copper and ferric ions from aqueous solutions, chemical modification temperature was 120°C and the time was 12 h. Parameters that affect the adsorption experiments were studied and found the optimum pH were 6 and 5 for copper and iron respectively and the time interval was 120 min and the adsorbent mass was 0.1 g. The values for adsorption isotherms parameters were determined according to Langmuir [qmax were 54.64 and 61.7 mg/g while b values were 0.234 and 0.22 mg/l] , Freundlich [Kf were 16.07 and 18.89 mg/g and n were 2.77 and 3.16], Temkin [B were 0.063 and 0.074 j/mol and At were 0.143 and 1.658 l/g] and for Dubinin-Radushkev
