Objective: The aim of this study is to find out the impact of life events upon onset of depression, to describe the
prevalence of life events among depressed patients.
Methodology: Retrospective a case-control study conducted in AL-Diwanyia Teaching Hospital, Psychiatric
Department on A non-probability (purposive sample) of (60) depressed patients and (60) of healthy person were matched
with them from general population. The data were collected through the use of semi-structured interview by
questionnaire, which consists of two parts (1) divide, section A. cover letter and B. Sociodemographic data which consists
of 9-items, (2) Life events questionnaire consists of 51-items distributed to six dimensions include, family and social
dimension, financial dimension, work and school dimension, legal and criminal dimension, health dimension and change
of residency dimension.
Results: The findings of the present study indicate that the depressed patients have more exposed to life events than
control group before one year of onset of depression, family and social dimension, financial dimension, legal and criminal
dimension more effect on depression onset.
Recommendations: The study recommends that increase the individual, family and community awareness about
stress management to decrease the impact of life events upon their health.

The current study aimed to examine the histomorphological features of the oral salivary ducts and the peacock tongue (Pavo cristatus) of this species. In this study, eight healthy adult peacocks were used after collecting them from a commercial market in Baghdad to investigate and describe the tongue in these bird species. After being euthanized, they were killed by cutting off the major neck blood vessels and bleeding until death; the tongue was identified. The present study was included the isolation of Keratinophilic fungi from water samples taken from 19 indoor public swimming pools in Baghdad during four season (summer ,fall ,spring ,and winter). Isolation period was September 2011and September 2012 . Samples were collected from different places in swimming pool . Sixteen keratinophilic fungal species, belonging to twenty –one genera were isolated using Surface Dilution Plating (SDP) and Hair Bait Technique (HBT) . Among Persian poets and literary works, Ferdowsi and Shahnameh have a distinctive and prominent place. Since the 5th C. AH , they took the interest of all Persian language and literature scholars and were one of the first books to be translated into different languages including Arabic by Al Fatih Bin Ali Bin Mohammed Al-Bandari in the year of (620)AH .Because it was completed in the early 7th C. AH and in terms of antiquity, there is no older copy than of Al-Bandari’s version which holds great value in the analysis of Shahnameh other different copies.
