Impact of an Educational Program upon Academic Nurses’ Practice Concerning Documentation of Nursing Sheets in the Medical and Surgical Teaching Hospitals of Sulaimani Governorate

Objectives: The study objectives are to determine the impact of education program upon the academic nurses'
practice concerning documentation of nursing sheets, and to find out the relationship between nurses knowledge
and their demographic characteristics, which include age, sex, and years of experience in medical and surgical
wards.
Methodology: A quasi- experimental study was carried out at the medical and surgical wards in teaching
hospitals in Sulaimani governorate from the beginning of March up to June 2007٠
To reach the objectives of the study anon-probability (purposive) sample of (25) academic nurses who work in
the medical and surgical wards in teaching hospitals.
The data were collected through the use of constructed questionnaire, which comprised of demographic
information and scientific knowledge concerning nursing documentation which include (19) items.
The reliability of the instrument was determined through test-retest, ([20.86) and the validity through a panel of
14 experts.
The data were analyzed through the application of descriptive statistical analysis and the application of
inferential statistical analysis.
Results: The results of the study indicated that the educational program had appositive impact on the
knowledge of the academic nursestowards documentation of nursing sheets.
Recommendations: Based on the results of the study, the investigator recommended that academic nurses
who are working in the teaching hospitals should be encouraged to participate in educational programs and
present it to the nurses who have minimum level of knowledge in order to improve their level of knowledge,
which improve quality of care in the hospitals.
Furthermore, the study recommended that a specific educational programs should be designed to other nurses in
other nursing specialties.

Petrophysical Properties of an Iraqi Carbonate Reservoir Using Well Log Evaluation

This research was aimed to determine the petrophysical properties (porosity, permeability and fluid saturation) of a reservoir. Petrophysical properties of the Shuiaba Formation at Y field are determined from the interpretation of open hole log data of six wells. Littoral and benthic invertebrates from Roundwood Reservoir System were sampled. Oligochaetes and molluscs were the dominant organisms in the littoral and benthic areas Trichopterans and chironomids were the most abundant insect groups. Scuba diving samples reinforced that view. Other groups of macroinvertebrates were poorly represented. Vertical and horizontal hauls of zooplankton revealed that there were twelve species of zooplankton present. Daphnia hyalina Leydig and Bosmina coregoni Baird were the two dominant species.

Spot Welding of Dissimilar Metals Using an Automated Nd:YAG Laser System

An assembled pulsed Nd:YAG laser-robot system for spot welding similar and dissimilar metals is presented in this paper. The study evaluates the performance of this system through investigating the possibility and accuracy of executing laser spot welding of 0.2 mm in thickness stainless steel grade AISI302 to 0.5 mm in thickness low carbon steel grade AISI1008. The influence of laser beam parameters (peak power, pulse energy, pulse duration, repetition rate, and focal plane position on the final gained best results are evaluated. Enhancement of the experimental results was carried by a computational simulation using ANSYS FLUENT 6.3 package code.
