Objective(s): The aim of this study is to assess licensed indigenous midwives’ knowledge concerning prevention and
management of postpartum hemorrhage in Baghdad City.
Methodology: A descriptive analytic study is conducted on a purposive "non-probability" sample of one hundred
licensed indigenous midwives who were selected what represents 26% of the target population, during period from
March, 5
th to May, 10th,
2008. The study is conducted at the two settings of Ministry of Health (Baghdad health
directorate in Al-Karhk and Al-Risafa) sector during their annual renewed license for midwifery practice. The
questionnaire form is consisted of three parts which included demographic data, knowledge concerning prevention
and management of primary postpartum hemorrhage. Content validity and reliability of the questionnaire is
determined through a pilot study, descriptive and inferential statistical are used to analyze the data.
Results: The study results showed that the highest percentage (40%) of study sample is of the age group (50-59 years)
and more than half of the study sample is primary school graduate and less. More than the half of the study sample is
assigned to primary postpartum hemorrhage during their practices in midwifery. There were statistically significant
relationships between knowledge of licensed Indigenous Midwives regarding prevention and management of primary
postpartum hemorrhage and their ages and level of education.
Recommendations: The study recommends that licensed indigenous midwife should be provided with information on
safe delivery practices and the importance of healthy referral system. Committing licensed indigenous midwife to
apply Ministry of Health instructions, do not allowing delivering risky pregnant cases. Establish midwifery department
for medical technical institutes and higher diploma degree in midwifery for college nurse graduates
Breast cancer (BC) is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women. The metabolism of iron is closely regulated by hepcidin which exerts its action by interacting with a ferroportin.
The aim of the present study was to assess the alterations in the levels of some serum biomarkers that have a role in iron homeostasis (hepcidin and ferroportin) in addition to hematological parameters (hemoglobin, leukocyte and platelets count) in different stages of BC.
This study included 66 women with BC. The patients were categorized as follows : group 1 includes :22 patients with stage I disease ,group 2 includes: 22 patients with stage II disease ,and group 3 include: 22 patients with stage III disease .Group 4 includes :22 appare

Exosomes are 40–100 nm-diameter nanovesicles that are either released straight from the plasma membrane during budding or merged with the plasma membrane by multivesicular bodies. Objectives: To assess the proportion of serum and urinary Exosome levels in urinary bladder cancer patients, as well as their impact on the disease. Methods: From January 2023 to June 2023, a total of 45 samples of blood and urine were collected from individuals diagnosed with bladder cancer at the Ghazi Hariri Hospital for Specialized Surgery. They included 45 male and female patients, varying in age, as well as 45 heal

The water quality of these marshes is suffering from salt accumulation due to intensive dam construction, limited supply of water from sources, climate change impacts, and the absence of outlet flow from these marshes, specifically at low flow periods. So, the current research aims to assess and improve these marshes' hydraulic behavior and water quality and define the best location for outlet drains. Field measurements and laboratory tests were conducted for two periods (November 2020 and February 2021) to define the (TDS) concentrations at nine different locations. Samples were also examined for water's phy

Cone beam Computed tomography is an established method for acquiring bone images before performing dental implant. Cone beam computed tomography is an essential tool for treatment planning and post-surgical procedure monitoring, by providing highly accurate 3-D images of the patient's anatomy from a single, low-radiation scan which yields high resolution images with favorable accuracy. The aim of study is the Measurement of alveolar bone (height and buccolingual width) and density in the mandible among Iraqi adult subject using CBCT for assessment of dental implant site dimensions. Many intracellular enzymes like (alkaline phosphatase- (ALP), aspartate aminotransferase- (AST) and alanine aminotransferase- (ALT) that are released outside cells into the gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) and saliva after destruction of periodontal tissue during periodontitis. This study was conducted to determine the periodontal health status and the levels of salivary enzymes (ALP, AST and ALT) of the study and control groups and to correlate the levels of these enzymes with clinical periodontal parameters in each study group.
