The present study deals with the story of Epidemic in two literary works issued in the same year (1947). One of them is a novel titled "Plague" written by the French writer Alber Kamo, the second is a poem of the Iraqi poetess Nazik Al-Malaekah. The research reflects a contrastive study of the war vision in the two works as both writers used science to serve literature by using Epidemic as a metaphor to refer to the dangers that the societies faced.

A structural and engineering geological study of rock slope stability was carried out in six stations that lie in the Southwest of Baranan mountain, along Sirwan road. The present study deals with the assessment of water Quality Index to theAl-
Khadhimiya Groundwater city, by collection groundwater from 13wells during four
seasons, subjecting the samples to a comprehensive physicochemical analysis. The
13 parameters have been considered: pH, total hardness, calcium, magnesium,
turbidity, nitrate, electrical conductivity, total dissolved solid, Sulfate, Chloride,
zinc, manganic, and iron, that are used for calculating the WQI. From the result
shown, the most groundwater quality lies in Unfit for human drinking purpose. The
wells (1 and 11) and wells (3 and 10) were a bad water quality for drinking purpose
since they lie in poor and in very poor respectively according to the WQI.

A comparison was conducted between two wells, Kt-1and Kt-2, in Kumait and two wells, Du-1and Du-2, in Dujaila oil fields that belong to Mishrif formation, southern Iraq.  Seismic inversion method was employed to detect oil and water reservoirs. The comparison included the behavior of acoustic impedance (AI) of fluids and the lithology with related petrophysical properties. The values of water saturation, Shale volume (Vsh), and effective porosity were compared between the AI,  two fluid reservoirs. It was found that the AI value for the oil reservoir unit is relatively low to medium, whereas it was relatively medium for the water reservoir.
