Hepatitis A virus infection occurs globally and is causing a public health
concern, primarily in developing countries due to its persistent circulation in the
environment. A total of 120 individuals were included in this study, anti-HAV IgM
antibodies were detected in serum of 100 individuals of them (patients group) who
attended the Wasit central public health laboratory from different cities in Wasit
Province, Iraq, during the period from November 2013 to March 2014.While
another 20 individuals were considered as control group which anti – HAV IgM
antibody was negative in their serum.
Acute infection is confirmed by detection of IgM anti–hepatitis A virus (HAV),
which appears early in the course of infection, anti-HAV IgM antibodies were
significantly higher (P<0.001) in hepatitis A patients than control using a solid
phase, two-step incubation, antibody capture ELISA kit .
Most of the HAV patients were located within the first decade (1-10 years) with a
percentage of 91%, whereas 9% of all patients were within second decade (10-20
years). In this study, HAV infection is distributed equally among genders. Therefore,
there was no significant difference between females than male with a ratio of (1
female: 0.786 male) and percentage of 56% females than 44% males.
The aim of the study is to determine the distribution of acute HAV infection with
age and sex of the infected patient in Wasit province/ Iraq.
The first thing that comes to mind is the highly important question of whether there were some effects of human behavior and its fluctuations on the theories of the efficient market and the contemporary investment portfolio. According to what has been said by the proponents of these two theories; when the optimal return is realized, the efficiency of the market is achieved in terms of perfect information on prices and risk that supposed to be predetermined in a rational way.
he other question that imposed here is “at what time people should be rational in their investments in the security markets ?”. This means that investors are rational for their efforts devoted to utility maximization, which are p

To determine the relative age of groundwater by measuring the tritium concentration in groundwater, four wells and four springs water samples were taken. Found that the mean tritium concentration in springs samples is 4.125 TU where in wells samples is 2 TU. Using Clark and Firtz (1997) classification found that the relative age is amix of sub modern and modern water. Through modern study was performed by Al-Paruany (2013) found that the tritium concentration in rainfall in Al-Diwaniyah Meteoric Station has reached the natural level (approximately 5TU). Throug

Materials and Methods: Blood samples were collected from 310 dogs of different ages and breeds, and of both sexes in different areas of Baghdad Province from December 2018 to September 2019; during clinical examinations, body temperature, pulse, respiratory rate, and signs of diseases were recorded. PCR was used to amplify a specific 450-bp fragment of the 18S rRNA gene of B. canis. PCR products were sequenced, and MEGA 6.0 software was used for analysis. Chi-squar

It aimes to study the quantity and quality of the mollusca Invertebrates; furthermore. The study evaluates the molluscan biodiversity of the rivers by using appropriate biodiversity indexes. Thus, the first of its kind study in the evaluation of the diversity of mollusc in Gharaf River assemblage. Monthly samples were collected randomly from the river mud, for 12 months, from January till December 2016. During the collection process; 5 stations on the river were chosen for sampling with 10(±1) Km distance between each of the stations, including Wasit Governorate. The study showed the

A detailed morphological feature of the stem, leaf, fruit and seed were introduced. Anatomical studies reveal constant taxonomic characteristics such as the obvious cuticle on the epidermis of stems and leaves, developed cortex, pith and vascular tissue in stems. From an environmental perspective has been studied the habitat and the distribution of C. spinosa in Iraq that showed inhabit very dry places and had mesophytic and xerophytic habitat.
A total of 228 domestic and wild animals, including sheep, goats, cows, buffaloes, camels, horses, donkeys, dogs, cats, wild hares, Asiatic jackals, and red foxes were examined for ixodid ticks in the central region of Iraq. Nine species of ixodid ticks belong to two genera namely Hyalomma anatolicum Koch, 1844, H. excavatum Koch, 1844, H. turanicum Pomerantsef, 1946, H. scupense Delpy, 1946, H. dromedarii Koch, 1844, H. schulzei Olenev, 1931, Rhipicephalus annulatus (Say, 1821), R. turanicus Pomerantsef & al., 1940 and R. leporis Pomerantsef, 1946 were recovered. Worldwide, infertility affects approximately 15% of all couples trying to conceive. Male infertility is responsible for about 50% of the infertility cases. Chromosomal abnormalities and Y-chromosome microdeletions are the most common genetic causes of male infertility. Klinefelter syndrome (KS) is the most prevalent factor of the chromosomal abnormality in the infertile male. Azoospermia Factor (AZF) microdeletions located on the Y chromosome are one of the recurrent genetic cause of male infertility. This study aims to investigate the prevalence of chromosomal anoma

Aim: to investigate the presence of EBV in breast tumor

Patients and Methods: Paraffin-embedded tissue blocks
