There are growing concerns over the possibility of transfer genetically modified
sequences from genetically modified feed component (GM feed) to animals and
their products, moreover, affect these sequences on animal and human health. This
study was implemented to detect P35S in modified feed by using PCR technique by
detecting presence P35S promoter, which responsible for the regulation of gene
expression for most of the transgenic genes. Thirty eight feed samples were
collected from different sources of Baghdad markets, which have been used for
feeding livestock, comprise 21 coarse mixes feed, 13 pelleted feed, and 4 expanded
feed. Genomic DNA was extracted by using two methods, CTAB method and
Wizard kit. In order to verify the presence (P35S) in feed samples, a pair of primer
for 35S promoter was used. The results of the present study showed that 58% of
tested samples contained promoter P35S this means presence genetically modified
feed in the Baghdad market

New heterocyclic derivatives of quinoline are reported. Reaction of quinoline-2-thiol 4 with hydrazine hydrate gave 2-hydrazionoquinoline 5. Treatment of 5 with CS2 in pyridine afforded 1,2,4-triazolo-[4,3-a]- quinolin-1-2H-thione 6, whereas the reaction of 5 with carboxylic acids namely formic acid or acetic acid, yielded the 1,2,4-triazol-[4,3-a]-quinolin 7 or 5-methyl-1,2,4-triazolo [4,3-a]-quinoline 8 through ring closure. Diazotization of 5 under acidic conditions produced the fused tetrazole compound 9, tetrzolo-[1,5-a]- quinoline. Moreover, treatment of 5 with active methlyene compounds gave two pyrazole derivatives 10 and 11. Azomethines 12a-e were prepared through condensation of 5 with aromatic aldehydes or ketones.

This research deals with study of the effect of additives on rheological properties (yield point, plastic viscosity ,and apparent viscosity) of emulsions. Twenty seven emulsion samples were prepared; all emulsions in this investigation are invert emulsions when water droplets are dispersed in diesel oil. The resulting emulsions are called water-in-oil (W/O) emulsions. The measurement of minority carrier lifetime (MCLT) ofp-n Si fabricated with aid of laser doping technique was reported. The measurement is achieved by using open circuit voltage decay (OCVD) technique.
