The isolates were screened according to their capability for pectinase production, screening process identified the best pectinolytic isolate and it was characterized by cultural and biochemical, as Pesudomonas sp. Pectinolytic enzyme producing bacterium Pesudomonas sp. was isolated from the Iraqi soil on nutrient agar plate. Optimiztion of process parameters were carried out by altering some of environmental conditions of chemo-physical environment for the production medium. The highest pectinase production was observed at 48 hrs of incubation at 35 °C with the initial pH of 6.0. Different nutrients and environmental conditions were investigated in terms of their effect on the production of extracellular pectinase using citrus pectin as substrate. The results exhibited that Yeast extract 0.15% with 0.5% of citrus pectin supported maximum pectinase production in the optimum conditions.

A total of 437 individuals of Turbellarin Platyhelminthes were sorted from benthic samples collected monthly for a period of seven months( April to November 2013 ) from AL-Dalmage lake, a part of middle section for main outfall drain south of Baghdad. They were identified as Gyratrix hermaphroditus, Stenostomum leucops ,Stenostomum unicolar and Stenostomum bryophilum ,The relative abundance of worms decreased during hot season which (May to September) ,where they start rising again. The species were studied alive , the identification criteria were illustrated by photos. G. hermaphroditus was the most abundant species among the four species.

In the carbonization process, nitrogen gas flow rate was 0.2L/min at carbonization temperature of 500ºC for 1h. The char products were then preceded to the activation process at 850°C under carbon dioxide (CO2) activation flow rate of 0.6L/min for 3h. The activation method produced local adsorbent material with a surface area and total pore volume as high as 118.59m2 /g and 0.1467cm3/g, respectively. Mushrooms have bioactive compounds that have antimicrobial, anti-cancer and antioxidant activities among other medicinal benefits. In the present study, we examined the anti-cell proliferation activities of mushrooms from eight genera obtained from the wild in Nigeria. Saccharomyces cerevisiae was used as a model organism to screen mushroom extracts for anti-cell proliferation activity.
