This research deals  with the detection of possible surface soil pollution by radon emissions for an area located inside the university of Baghdad campus at AL-Jadiriyah / Baghdad. The area is about 5625 m² and located near the College of Science for Women. The area used as construction rubbles dump yard in the past, while recently it is covered with Silty - Clayey soil furnished with grass and used as a playground.     A faunistic review of the genus Chaitophorus Koch, 1854, including four species in Iraq is given; the distribution data of each species and their hosts have been recorded. The approximate solution of a nonlinear parabolic boundary value problem with variable coefficients (NLPBVPVC) is found by using mixed Galekin finite element method (GFEM) in space variable with Crank Nicolson (C-N) scheme in time variable. The problem is reduced to solve a Galerkin nonlinear algebraic system (NLAS), which is solved by applying the predictor and the corrector method (PCM), which transforms the NLAS into a Galerkin linear algebraic system (LAS).
