Texture Features Analysis using Gray Level Co-occurrence Matrix for Abnormality Detection in Chest CT Images

Texture is an important characteristic for the analysis of many types of images because it provides a rich source of information about the image. Also it provides a key to understand basic mechanisms that underlie human visual perception. In this paper four statistical feature of texture (Contrast, Correlation, Homogeneity and Energy) was calculated from gray level Co-occurrence matrix (GLCM) of equal blocks (30×30) from both tumor tissue and normal tissue of three samples of CT-scan image of patients with lung cancer. It was found that the contrast feature is the best to differentiate between textures, while the correlation is not suitable for comparison, the energy and homogeneity features for tumor tissue always greater than its values for normal tissue.

Matrix Form of Deriving High Order Schemes for the First Derivative

For many problems in Physics and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), providing an accurate approximation of derivatives is a challenging task. This paper presents a class of high order numerical schemes for approximating the first derivative. These approximations are derived based on solving a special system of equations with some unknown coefficients. The construction method provides numerous types of schemes with different orders of accuracy. The accuracy of each scheme is analyzed by using Fourier analysis, which illustrates the dispersion and dissipation of the scheme. The polynomial technique is used to verify the order of accuracy of the proposed schemes by obtaining the error terms. Dispersion and dissipation errors are calculated

Sixty-four multi-slice cerebral CT angiographic findings in early non-traumatic subarachnoid hemorrhage

Background:  spontaneous subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) is subtype of hemorrhagic stroke with extremely poor prognosis. It’s a medical emergency and can lead to death or severe disability even when recognized and treated at an early stage. Computed tomographic angiography (CTA) is frequently become the initial step in detecting intracranial aneurysms and planning therapeutic interventions.

Objectives: to analyze the findings of non traumatic SAH in cerebral CTA and characterization of the underlying causes, emphasizing the importance of CTA as a new advent investigation in Iraq.

The Derivation of Crystal Orientation Matrix for Triclinic System on Two-circle Diffractometer

The limited availability of the two-circle diffractometer to collect intensity measurements down to the monoclinic system has been extended in a novel procedure to collect intensities for the triclinic system. The procedure involves the derivation of matrix elements from graphical representation of the reciprocal lattice. Offset of  the origins of  the upper layers from that of the zero-layer - characteristic of triclinic system - is determined and the  3 x 3  matrix elements are evaluated accordingly. Details of  crystal alignment by X-rays for the triclinic system utilizing the intensities of  equivalent reflections is described

Analysis of liquidity and profitability of general price level changes Applied Study State company for Glass and Ceramic industry

The accountants are preparing the financial statements under the Monetary Unit Stability Assumption without taking into consideration the changement of prices for the monetary unit. The income statement accounts containing different items of expenses and revenues. These items are not paid or obtained at one date, because the value of monetary unit is changing from one date to another , also the financial position contains different items of current and fixed assets, also contains different items of long-term liabilities and ownership rights, the continuity of applying historical cost principle will make the financial statements misleading, The adoption of financial analyst of these statements will affects

Content Based Image Clustering Technique Using Statistical Features and Genetic Algorithm

Text based-image clustering (TBIC) is an insufficient approach for clustering related web images. It is a challenging task to abstract the visual features of images with the support of textual information in a database. In content-based image clustering (CBIC), image data are clustered on the foundation of specific features like texture, colors, boundaries, shapes. In this paper, an effective CBIC) technique is presented, which uses texture and statistical features of the images. The statistical features or moments of colors (mean, skewness, standard deviation, kurtosis, and variance) are extracted from the images. These features are collected in a one dimension array, and then genetic algorithm (GA) is applied for image clustering.

Comparison of Features Extraction Algorithms Used in the Diagnosis of Plant Diseases

The detection of diseases affecting plant is very important as it relates to the issue of food security, which is a very serious threat to human life. The system of diagnosis of diseases involves a series of steps starting with the acquisition of images through the pre-processing, segmentation and then features extraction that is our subject finally the process of classification. Features extraction is a very important process in any diagnostic system where we can compare this stage to the spine in this type of system. It is known that the reason behind this great importance of this stage is that the process of extracting features greatly affects the work and accuracy of classification. Proper selection of

Test anxiety for intermediate level

Test anxiety for intermediate level The current study aims to measure the test anxiety of research’s sample and to identify the statistical differences of test anxiety, considering two variables gender and students classes level (first and third intermediate class). To do this, a stratified random sampling of (300) student from first and third intermediate classes had selected from both the karkh and Rusafa sides of Baghdad province for the academic year 2015-2016. The author tested the whole sample by using the test anxiety scale that had tested for its validity and reliability. The results revealed that the research’s sample as a whole was suffering from test anxiety, there were a statistical differences between male and female tha

Data Mining Methods for Extracting Rumors Using Social Analysis Tools

Rumors are typically described as remarks whose true value is unknown. A rumor on social media has the potential to spread erroneous information to a large group of individuals. Those false facts will influence decision-making in a variety of societies. In online social media, where enormous amounts of information are simply distributed over a large network of sources with unverified authority, detecting rumors is critical. This research proposes that rumor detection be done using Natural Language Processing (NLP) tools as well as six distinct Machine Learning (ML) methods (Nave Bayes (NB), random forest (RF), K-nearest neighbor (KNN), Logistic Regression (LR), Stochastic Gradient Descent (SGD) and Decision Tree (

Employ 6D-BIM Model Features for Buildings Sustainability Assessment
Abstract<p>To translate sustainable concepts into sustainable structure, there is a require a collaborative work and technology to be innovated, such as BIM, to connect and organize different levels of industry e.g. decision-makers, contractors, economists, architects, urban planners, construction supplies and a series of urban planning and strategic infrastructure for operate, manage and maintain the facilities. This paper will investigate the BIM benefits as a project management tool, its effectiveness in sustainable decision making, also the benefit for the local industry key stakeholders by encouraging the BIM use as a project management tool to produce a sustainable building project.
