Background: The neonatal deaths account for two-third of all deaths in the first year of life, and 40% of under-five mortality. Extreme prematurity, respiratory distress syndrome , neonatal infections , and congenital malformations are among the common causes of neonatal deaths.
Methods: We retrospectively studied 668 neonates who died over 5 years period from first of Jan. 2000 to the end of Dec. 2004 in neonatal care unit of children Welfare Teaching Hospital-medical city, by obtaining data from reviewing their medical records and death certificates.

The Power Amplifier printed circuit board (PCB) prototype was designed using InGaP HBT homogeneous technology transistor and GaAs Heterojunction Bipolar Transistor (HBT) transistor. Two models have been compared; one of the models gave 16dB gain, and the other gave 23dB when using an input power signal (-15dBm). Cholesteryl ester transfer protein gene contains some single nucleotide polymorphisms, which have been associated with serum high-density lipoprotein concentration and other lipoproteins. This study is done for determining of cholesteryl ester transfer protein polymorphism and evaluate its effect on serum lipid profile concentrations in some hyperlipidemic patients compared with healthy subjects in Salah Al-din governorate-Iraq. Blood samples were taken from (90) patients suffering from hyperlipidemia, and (70) samples that were apparently healthy controls.  Serum lipid concentrations were measured by enzymatic assays.
