Purification of Red Wasp Vespa orientalis and Yellow Wasp Polistes olivaceaus Toxin and Estemating Some of its Biological Characteristics

This study included the collecting of 390 gland toxicity of the Red Wasp Vespa orientalis and 418 gland toxicity of yellow wasp Polistes olivaceaus from different areas of Baghdad city. It was classified depending on taxonomic keys in order to diagnose and identify the general characteristics of each species, and then extract gland toxicity to get poison. The poison was purified by gel filtration throw Sephacryl S-200 obtain three peaks of proteins. The activity of lysis and clotting was estimated for peaks separate P1, P2 and P3 for wasp red toxin, the lysis activity of separate P1 was 98% of the poison origin activity and the clotting time was 47.3 minutes, while when estimating the activity of lysis and clotting for peaks separate P1, P2 and P3 for wasp yellow toxin, the lysis activity of separate P2 was 91% of the poison origin activity and the clotting time was 43.8 minutes. The molecular weight of P1 and P2 wasp was 22387 and 22382 Da respectively by using the gel filtration Sephacryl S-200, while the carbohydrates content were 60.057 and 44.460 mg/ ml respectively, The percentage of iron was 0.88 and 0.44 ppm respectively, the optimum pH of lysis and clotting activity for P1 and P2 was 6.5, and noted that they stable at range 6-7.5 and 5.5 -8 respectively, the optimum temperature of lysis and clotting activity for P1 and P2 was 35oC, and noted that they stable at 35oC for 30 minutes.

New Tetra-dentate Schiff Base Ligand N2O2 and Its Complexes with Some of Metal Ions: Preparation, Identification, and Studying Their Enzymatic and Biological Activities

In present work, new tetra-dentate ligand, titled 3,5-bis ((E)-5-Bromo-2-hydroxy benzylidene amino) benzoic acid (H3L), was prepared via an acid-catalyzed condensation process. New four metallic ligand complexes with Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) ions, were also prepared from the refluxing of equivalent moles. Ligand's structure and its complexes; were confirmed by numerous characterization methods, including Ultraviolet-Visible, Infrared, Mass Spectrometer, 1H and 13C Nuclear Magnetic Resonance spectra, atomic absorption, magnetic moments, and molar conductivity measurements. The results of the spectroscopic analyzes proved that the prepared ligand acts as tetradentate bi-ionic ligand and it was bond

Synthesis and Study Biological Activity of Some New Isoxazoline and Pyrazoline derivatives

This work involves synthesis of novel Schiff bases derivatives contining isoxazoline or pyrazoline units starting with chalcons . 4-Aminoacetophenone was reacted with 3-nitrobenzaldehyde in basic medium giving chalcone [I] by claisen-schemidt reaction. The chalcone [I]  was reacted with hydroxylamine hydrochloride giving isoxazoline [II]  in basic medium. The chalcone [I] could also react with hydrazitne hydrate to give pyrazoline [III]  . The novel Schiff bases with structural formula [IV] and [V] were prepared by the reaction of amino compounds ; isoxazoline [II] and pyrazolines [III] with p-substituted aldehydes or p-subsituted ketones, respectively in dry benzene using drops of glacial acetic acid as a cat

Detection of Salmonella In Some Red and White Frozen Meat Obtained From Local Market.

Background: Salmonella spp. are one of the most frequently reported causes of bacterial foodborne outbreak in the world.
Objective: This study has been conducted to detect salmonella as a major public health problem worldwide.
Methods: A total of 12 samples including 8 white meat (chicken) and 4 red meat (beef) samples were collected randomly from each sample; 25gr was separated and treated with 225ml of buffered peptone water, incubated at 37C°and 42C° for 24 hours. Samples were streaked on selective enteric agar.
Result: Totally 4 out of 8 chicken meat and one out of 4 red meat samples were contaminated with Salmonella spp.
Conclusion: These results confirmed the previous findings stating the proper packaging of meat prod

Synthesis and study of biological activity of some new Imidazole derivatives

In this work ester derivatives were synthesized by the reaction of imidazole derivatives (C1) with ethylchloroacetate in ethanol and NaOH to give the corresponding (C2) .While compound (C3) acetohydrazide was synthesized by the reaction of ester derivatives (C2) with hydrazine hydrat in ethanol. Compound (C3) from the reaction with different aromatic aldehydes in absolute ethanol gave the Schiff′s bases (C4,C5). The product compounds were characterized by FT-IR, U.V and 1HNMR spectra and the biological activities were studied as antibacterial.

Isolation and Identification of Phenolic Compounds from Dianthus orientalis Wildly Grown in Iraq.

The plant Dianthus Orientalis that belongs to the Caryphyllaceae family is one of the useful plants in Iraq. Its seeds are commonly used for toothache. This project provides the first comprehensive research done in Iraq and the world to study the phytochemicals and the methods of extraction and isolation of active constituents from Dianthus orientalis wildly grown in Iraq. The plant was harvested from Penjwin in AL-Sulaymaniyah city, Iraq in September 2019.The whole plant were washed carefully, dried in shade area for two weeks, and milled in a mechanical grinder to a coarse powder. The plant was defatted by maceration with hexane for 7days and dried after that extracted by cold extraction methods using

Purification and characterization of Streptococcus pyogenes superantigen (Spe-C)

From 144 specimens of tonsillitis which were collected from patient, (children of 3 -12 year olds) there were 70 isolates beta hemolytic and 28 isolates were identified as S. pyogenes. Sensitivity of S. pyogenes isolates to antibiotics was tested, all isolates were sensitive to amoxicillin and cephaloxia while higher resistant were to erythromycin. One isolate whiche was 100 A had a stable characteristics and produce pyrogenic toxin was chosen for study and it was purified and characterized from the cell free supernatant of S. pyrogenes strain.
