Evaluation of Tinospora cordifolia Willd. Extracts Against Algal Growth
...Show More Authors

The present study has been conducted to evaluate the antialgal activities of
Tinospora cordifolia leaves extracts, these extracts included Terpens, Alkaloids, and
Phenols of that plant against 3 algal isolates: Anabaena circinalis, Scenedsmus
quadricauda and Mougeotia scalaris. The agar well diffusion method was used to
evaluate the inhibitory actions of these extracts with 3 concentrations: 5, 10, and 20
mg/ml. The experiments were conducted and analyzed as factorial experiments with
three replications using a completely Randomized Design, Means were compared
according to L.S.D. values at 5% significant level.
Results showed that A. circinalis was the most sensitive to alkaloid extract and
the diameterinhibitionzone was 40 mm in 20 mg/ml concentration, while this alga
was less sensitive to phenol extract anthe inhibition zone was 17 mm. also the
results showed that alkaloids extract was most active against all algae usedin this
study followed by terpens extracts, while the phenols extracts had lower antialgal
activity.

Comparative study of creep and fatigue crack growth in Poly (Vinyl chloride) pipe
...Show More Authors

The Rate theory of crack growth in PVC pipe has been studied for creep and fatigue crack propagation. Rate theory function parameters, (RTFP), were estimated theoretically from exponential function parameters, (EFP), to experimental data of crack velocity versus stress intensity factor ,(V-K) diagram, to creep crack propagation . Also (RTFP) were estimated theoretically from (EFP) to experimental data of (V-?K) diagram to fatigue crack propagation. Temperature effect with (RTFP) was discussed. Crack velocity function denoted with stress intensity factor and temperature degrees has been determined to fatigue and creep crack propagation theoretically and comparative results this function with experimental data of (V-K or ?K) diagram .

Solution of Population Growth Rate Linear Differential Model via Two Parametric SEE Transformation
...Show More Authors

The integral transformations is a complicated function from a function space into a simple function in transformed space. Where the function being characterized easily and manipulated through integration in transformed function space. The two parametric form of SEE transformation and its basic characteristics have been demonstrated in this study. The transformed function of a few fundamental functions along with its time derivative rule is shown. It has been demonstrated how two parametric SEE transformations can be used to solve linear differential equations. This research provides a solution to population growth rate equation. One can contrast these outcomes with different Laplace type transformations

Assessment of Liver, Thyroid Gland and Growth Hormone Functions in Beta Thalassemia Major
...Show More Authors

Labile plasma iron and tissue iron overload are major complications of thalassemia disease that increase mortality rate. The iron that is exceeding the capacity of transferrin and ferritin is the leading cause of cell oxidation of many organs such as liver, heart, endocrine systems, etc. This study is designed to investigate the status of liver, thyroid gland and the growth hormone in beta thalassemia patients. In a cross-sectional study, 65 samples of beta thalassemia major were taken who were on a regular chelation therapy and blood transfusion and were to be compared with reference values. The results of the study estimated that 98.46% of the cases had high serum ferritin level, 12.3% high ALT, 27.7% high AST, 86.15% high ALP

Effect of Time Factor, Molybdenum and Potassium on Rhizobium Growth in the Soil
...Show More Authors

An experiment was carried out to study the effects of Time Factor, potassium and Molybdenum on Rhizobium growth. The objective of the experiment, which conducted under laboratory conditions, was to investigate the interaction effects of using three levels of Molybdenum (0, 0.25, 2.50 mg Mo . Kg-1 sterile soil) and four levels of potassium (0, 25, 50, 100 mg K . Kg-1 sterile soil) on the viable counts of Rhizobium growth in the sterile soil after 3, 9, 15 and 21 days of incubation at 28°C. The results indicated that Molybdenum level 2.50 mg Mo . Kg-1 sterile soil and potassium level 50 mg K . Kg-1 sterile soil recorded the biggest significant increase in the viable counts of Rhizobium growth in the sterile soil especially after 15 da

Morphological and Growth Properties of Albino Rat Bone Marrow Stromal Cells In Vitro
...Show More Authors

The potential use of bone marrow stromal cells as a cellular therapy for chronic diseases relies on the ability of the cell to replicate extensively in vitro. For this reason the present study investigated the replication lifespan and examined the growth properties of albino rats mesenchymal stem cells(MSCS)in vitro. To establish an in vitro system for isolating and culturing the  MSCs of albino rats and to provide research data for its further application, the bone marrow (BM)was collected from young male rats and separated by gradient centrifugation. Then, the mononuclear cells(MNCs) were retrieved from the buffy layer and cultured in Modified Eagle,s Medium (MEM) supplemented with 10%Fetal Calf Serum (FCS)and incubation

Glutathione Mediate Growth Regulation of Chickpea Plant Cicer arietinum and Mitigate Salinity Stress.
...Show More Authors

Glutathione is water-soluble with a low molecular weight and is commonly spread in plants. It is a co-factor in several biochemical reactions and acts together with signaling molecules and hormones, and its redox state activates signal transduction. The experiment was conducted in the botanical garden, Department of Biology, College of Education for Pure Sciences, Ibn Al- Haitham, University of Baghdad, during the growing season 2020-2021 to evaluate the potential effects of foliar spraying with (25, 50, 75 mg.L-1) glutathione in addition to the control (0) on the growth of chickpea plants subjected to sodium chloride salt (100, 200 mM.L-1) addition to the control (0). The results point out that salinity clearly dec

Biofertilizer (EM-1) effect on growth and yield of three bread wheat cultivars
...Show More Authors

Farmers keep trying to avoid using chemical fertilizer without losing high yield. A field experiment was conducted in the fields of Agriculture College, University of Baghdad during winter seasons of 2015 and 2016 to investigate the response of three bread wheat cultivars (Ibaa99, Abu-Ghraib3 and Buhooth22) to the frequency of spraying with biofertilizer (EM-1) (one time at tillering stage, twice at tillering and stem elongation stages and three times at tillering, stem elongation and booting stages) in addition to the control (without spraying), to the increase of grain yield. Randomized complete block design (RCBD), in split plots arrangement and four replications, was used. Spraying treatments were placed as main plots and cultivars as s

Immunohistochemical Expression of Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor in Astrocytic Tumors in Iraqi Patients
...Show More Authors

BACKGROUND: Diffuse astrocytomas constitute the largest group of primary malignant human intracranial tumours. They are classified by the World Health Organization (WHO) into three histological malignancy grades: diffuse astrocytomas (grade II), anaplastic astrocytomas (grade III) and glioblastoma (grade IV) based on histopathological features such as cellular atypia, mitotic activity, necrosis and microvascular proliferation. Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) is a 170-kDa transmembrane tyrosine kinase receptor expressed in a variety of normal and malignant cells regulating critical cellular processes. When activated, epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) triggers several signalling cascades leading to increased proliferatio
