Vehicle Indoor Air pollution with Fungi Generated by Air Conditioning Systems (AC) and Treatment by Using Aqueous Extracts Mushroom (Ganoderma lucidum)
...Show More Authors

Vehicle Air Conditioning (AC) systems are used in countries that suffer high temperature degrees during the summer season, one of these countries is Iraq. Most passengers suffer manifestations which may lead to Allergic or Respiratory diseases as they inhale polluted air produced by AC systems.
In this study 10 vehicle were selected randomly on the basis of noxious odors emitted from AC systems. Indoor air samples were collected by using impaction method and using Sabouraud's dextrose agar to grow and isolate dominant fungi species accompanied with AC polluted air. Dust particle diameters aggregated in AC filters were measured because the particles work as transporters to carry fungi then get inhaled by the passengers. After isolating and identifying air fungi, frequency, occurrences percentage calculated. The Ganoderma lucidum extract was used as inhibitor agent and antifungal growth by using different concentrations: (10, 15, 20, 25) mg/ml. The results showed that the dominant species air fungi related to AC systems are: Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus flavus, Penicillium and Rhizopus . The highest occurrences percent 80%, and highest frequency percent 33.3% was recorded to Aspergillus niger ,while the lowest occurrences percent 30%, and lowest frequency percent 12.5% was records to Rhizopus . Microscopic examination for dust particles showed that the particles size ranged between (1 μm to 10 μm), and the highest distribution percentage was 43% for particles of less than 5μm in size which are respirable and can cause allergic and respiratory diseases .The Ganoderma lucidum in concentration of 25mg/ml have highly inhibition zone than other concentrations .

VARIATION OF SOME WATER QUALITY PARAMETERS OF HUWAIZA MARSH IN SOUTHERN IRAQ
...Show More Authors

Huwaiza marsh is considered the largest marsh in the southern part of Iraq. It is located between 31° and 31.75° latitude and extends over the Iraqi-Iranian border; but the largest part lies in Iraq. It is located to the east of Tigris River in Messan and Basra governorates.
In this research, the variation of some water quality parameters at different locations of Huwaiza marsh were studied to find out its efficacy in the treatment of the contamination coming from the wastewater outfall of Kahlaa brokendown sewage treatment plant which lies on the Kahlaa River. This rive is the main feeder of Huwaiza marsh. Ten water quality sampling locations were chosen in this marsh. The water samples were taken during 2009 for three months; Janu

An evaluation of pollution level has been done for drinking water which is used in Kirkuk city by heavy metals ( As,Cd,Cu,Fe,Mn,Ni,Zn,Cr,Pb) samples were collected during wet and dry of 2016-2017 from Kirkuk unified water supplied project (WTP) which is supply the city with drinking water, as well as from water of tanks type (GST2), and also from (tap water) (Zone3). The results showed the concentration of the (As,Cd,Cu,Fe,Mn,Ni,Zn,Cr,Pb)inppbfor (WTP)are (0.5,0.6,6.45,38,4.6,2.5,6537,0.58,1.4) (0.6,0.8,6.76,46,5.5,3.5,6675,1,2.4) for (GST) (0.5,0.63,6.46,52.3,4.4,3.6,6550,0.6,2.5) (0.60,0.7,6.78,63.7,6.7,3.7,6680,1.1,2.6) and for tap water are (0.53,0.65,7.00,60.2,4.4,3.65,7200,0.8,2.7) (0.60, 0.71, 7.10, 67.6, 6.8,3.75,7320,0.9,2.75) f

The effect of different flooding ratio on Al-Shuwaija marsh
...Show More Authors

In this research, the effect of changing the flood level of Al-Shuwaija marsh was studied using the geographic information systems, specifically the QGIS program, and the STRM digital elevation model with a spatial analysis accuracy of 28 meters, was used to study the marsh. The hydraulic factors that characterize the marsh and affecting on the flooding such as the ranks of the water channels feeding the marsh and the degree of slope and flat areas in it are studied. The area of immersion water, the mean depth, and the accumulated water volume are calculated for each immersion level, thereby, this study finds the safe immersion level for this marsh was determined.

Performance of Corrosion Inhibitors Blend for Simulated Industrial Cooling Waters under Dynamic Conditions
...Show More Authors

The inhibitive action of a blend of sodium nitrite/sodium hexametaphosphate (SN+SHMP) on corrosion of carbon steel in simulated cooling water systems (CWS) has been investigated by weight loss and electrochemical polarization technique. The effect of temperature, velocity, and salts concentrations on corrosion of carbon steel were studied in the absence and presence of mixed inhibiting blend. Also the effect of inhibitors blend concentrations (SN+SHMP), temperatures, and rotational velocity, i.e., Reynolds number (Re) on corrosion rate of carbon steel were investigated using Second-order Rotatable Design (Box-Wilson Design) in performing weight loss and corrosion potential approach. Electrochemical polarization measurements

Experimental Study on the Effect of Insertion of Copper Lessing Rings in Phase Change Material (PCM) on the Performance of Thermal Energy Storage Unit
...Show More Authors

Abstract

One of the most suitable materials to be used in latent heat thermal energy storage system (LHTES) are Phase change materials, but a problem of slow melting and solidification processes made many researchers focusing on how to improve their thermal properties. This experimental work concerned with the enhancing of thermal conductivity of phase change material. The enhancing method was by the addition of copper Lessing rings in phase change material (paraffin wax). The effect of diameter for the used rings was studied by using two different diameters (0.5 cm and 1cm). Also, three volumetric percentages of rings addition (3%, 6% and 10%) were tested for each diameter. The discharging process was done with

The dubbing process for the Foreign Dramas by the Kurdish language became a serious phenomenon in the Kurdish satellite TV, especially in the past few years. It attracted a wide audience, especially young adolescents. And prepared by some breakthrough hostile to Kurdish culture and value coordinated by others remedy for the structural gaps and lapses have, as a result of climate which is brought into existence globalization and secretions variety dimensional, saturated value and cognitive effects bearing a strong identity of its elements. From here, the problem of this research is the ambiguity of their role in a series of developmental processes Kurdish awareness of young people and the extent of the impact that caused it.
