3D geological model of a simple petroleum reservoir for Yamama Formation has
been built in Abu Amood Oil Field using Petrel software, which is a product of
Schlumberger. This model contains the structure, stratigraphy and reservoir
properties (porosity and water saturation) in three directions(X, Y and Z).Geologic
modeling is an applied science of creating computerized representations of portions
of the earth's crust, especially oil and gas fields.
Yamama Formation in Abu Amood Oil Field is divided into thirteen zones by
using well logs and their petrophysical properties, six of which are reservoir zones.
From the top of the formation these six zones are: (YB-1, YB-2, YB-3, YC-1, YC-2
and YC-3). These reservoir zones are separated from each other by barriers, which
are of little or no porosity.
The Tel Hajar formation in the studied area has been divided into five microfacics units:
1) Fine hiogenic dolomite facies.
2) Sandy rich dolomite facies.
3) Dolomite diagenetic facies.
4) Recrystal1ized wackestone in microfacies.
5) Mudsione facies.
Microfacics reflect shallow marine water with open Circulation in the lower part of the formation and the environment of the upper is enclosed between upper tide and tide. The most important diagenesis was recrystallization and spary calcite deposit inside fossils chambers and pores.
Shear wave velocity is an important feature in the seismic exploration that could be utilized in reservoir development strategy and characterization. Its vital applications in petrophysics, seismic, and geomechanics to predict rock elastic and inelastic properties are essential elements of good stability and fracturing orientation, identification of matrix mineral and gas-bearing formations. ... Show More The present study investigates the main parameters effect on the solenoid design as converging lens of charged particle beam passing through it. These parameters are solenoid magnetic field (B), solenoid radius (Ro) and the solenoid total length (L). The result indicates that the solenoid system is very sensitive to the change of these parameters. The solenoid acts as converge lens but may convert to diverging lens at some conditions. The best design obtained at (L=1100 mm, B=5000 gauss and Ro=150 mm).

Portland Cement is manufactured by adding 3% gypsum to clinker which is produced by grinding, pulverizing, mixing, and then burning a raw mix of silica, and calcium carbonate. Limestone is the main source of carbonates, while clay collected from arable land is the main source of silica. The marl in the Euphrates Formation was studied as an alternative to arable lands. Nine boreholes drilled and penetrated the marl layer in selected locations at the Kufa cement quarry. Forty-one samples of marl from boreholes and four samples of limestone from the closed area were collected.
