3D Building Reconstruction Using DEM and Mosaic Model

A digital elevation model (DEM) is a digital representation of ground surface
topography or terrain. It can be represented as a raster (a grid of squares) and it is
commonly estimated by utilizing remote sensing techniques, or from land surveying.
In this research a 3D building of Baghdad university campus have been performed
using DEM, where the easting, northing, and elevation of 400 locations have been
obtained by field survey using global positioning system (GPS). The image of the
investigated area has been extracted from QuickBird satellite sensor (with spatial
resolution of 0.6 m). This image has been geo-referenced by selecting ground
control points of the GPS. The rectification is running, using 1st order polynomial
transformation. Estimation of the ground layer elevation is carried out by spline and
IDW interpolation, the buildings have been delineated as polygons with given real
heights in the second layer. The mosaic algorithm has then been applied between
the two layers to perform the final DEM creation process. Finally, the estimated
DEM have been used to constructing 3-D building.

Building HEC-RAS model to detect the areas of Water Cycle Interruption in river stream and their sections

The purpose of this paper is to build a simulation model by using HEC-RAS software to simulate the reality of water movement in the main river of Basra City (South of Iraq) which is known as Siraji-Khoura River. Two Stage Evaporative Cooling of Residential Building Using Geothermal Energy

The weather of Iraq has longer summer season compared with other countries. The ambient temperature during this season reaches over 50 OC which makes the evaporative cooling system suitable for this climate. Development of 3D Geological Model and Analysis of the Uncertainty in a Tight Oil Reservoir in the Halfaya Oil Field

A geological model was built for the Sadi reservoir, located at the Halfaya oil field. It is regarded as one of the most significant oilfields in Iraq. Object Reconstruction From Fourier Magnitude Information Only

Reconstruction an object from its Fourier magnitude has taken a great deal in the literature and there is still no obvious solution for the failure of this algorithm. In this paper, the frequent failure of the phase retrieval is discussed in details and it has been shown that when the object is cento-symmetric, the object support is vital element to ensure uniqueness while for asymmetric object; the asymmetric support of the object is not enough to ensure uniqueness but the reconstruction appear to include most of the information of the original object. This is also true for the reconstruction of a complex function.

Seismic Structural –Stratigraphic Study of Dhufria Area (Mid -Iraq) Using (3D) Techniques

This study deals with the seismic reflection interpretation of lower Cretaceous Formations in Dhufria area, including structural and stratigraphic techniques. In the interpretation process, the 3-D seismic data volume and well logs have been used. Based on well logs and synthetic traces two horizons were identified and picked which are the top and bottom of Zubair Formation. These horizons were followed over all the area in order to obtain structural setting as well as studying Kirkuk group Formation of Tertiary age which represents highstand progradational seismic facies.
