Nowadays, a very widespread of smartphones, especially Android smartphones, is observed. This is due to presence of many companies that produce Android based phones and provide them to consumers at reasonable prices with good specifications. The actual benefit of smartphones lies in creating communication between people through the exchange of messages, photos, videos, or other types of files. Usually, this communication is through the existence of an access point through which smartphones can connect to the Internet. However, the availability of the Internet is not guaranteed in all places and at all times, such as in crowded places, remote areas, natural disasters, or interruption of the Internet connection for any reason. To create a communication between devices, it is resorted to creating an ad hoc network using Device-to-Device technology. Wi-Fi Direct technology offers a suitable platform for creating an ad hoc network, as it supports the speed and range of standard Wi-Fi. In this paper, a mechanism is proposed to build an infrastructure-less ad hoc network, through developing the Wi-Fi direct protocol for Android smartphones. This network provides users ability to have a reliable communication, using the reliable Transmission Control Protocol only, and can continuously expand. Therefore it would be very beneficial in the absence of other infrastructure communication media such as cellular or Wi-Fi internet access.
In this paper an improved weighted 0-1 knapsack method (WKM) is proposed to optimize the resource allocation process when the sum of items' weight exceeds the knapsack total capacity .The improved method depends on a modified weight for each item to ensure the allocation of the required resources for all the involved items. The results of the improved WKM are compared to the traditional 0-1 Knapsack Problem (KP). The proposed method dominates on the other one in term of the total optimal solution value of the knapsack .
This study aims to identify the forgiveness level among gifted students and its relation to the self-awareness. The study sample consisted of (207) students were randomly chosen, they are integrated in secondary schools in Abha / Saudi Arabia. The correlative, analytical descriptive method was adopted. Two scales were adopted by the researcher: The forgiveness scale prepared by Rye et al (2001) which translated to Arabic by Al-Mahasneh (2017) and the self-awareness scale which prepared by Al-Ghezwani (2017). The question about the existence of correlation between the parameters A and m of the Paris function is re-examined theoretically for brittle material such as alumina ceramic (Al2O3) with different grain size. Investigation about existence of the exponential function which fit a good approximation to the majority of experimental data of crack velocity versus stress intensity factor diagram. The rate theory of crack growth was applied for data of alumina ceramics samples in region I and making use of the values of the exponential function parameters the crack growth rate theory parameters were estimated.
Iraqi siliceous rocks were chosen to be used as raw materials in this study which is concern with the linear shrinkage and their related parameters. They are porcelinite from Safra area (western desert) and Kaolin Duekla, their powders were mixed in certain percentage, to shape compacts and sintered. The study followed with thermal and chemical treatments, which are calcination and acid washing. The effects on final compact properties such as linear shrinkage were studied. Linear shrinkage was calculated for sintered compacts to study the effects of calcination processes, chemical washing, weight percentage, sintering processes, loading moment were studied on this property where the compacts for groups is insulating materials.
