Topology Molecular Indices Relationship of Electronic Properties of N-Alkanes and Branched Alkanes

    Eight electronic properties; HUMO, LUMO, HOMO-LUMO energy gap, dipole moment point-charge, dipole moment hybrid, molecular weight, heat of formation and zero-point energy of 60 normal and branched alkanes were examined using topology molecular indices. All the electronic properties were calculated using semi-empirical self-consistent molecular orbital theory. The relationship of electronic calculation properties with seven models of topology indices based on degree and/or distance were obtained in terms of their correlation, regression and principal component analysis. Most of the properties were well-modelled (r2 > 0.82) by topology molecular indices except the dipole moment point-charge and hybrid. The PCA resulted in 7 properties and 60 structures of alkanes that produced two principal components with eigenvalues of greater than 1. The first principal component explained 60.388%, while the second principal component explained 26.457%, bringing a cumulative value of 86.845% to the data variation.

Assessment of Heavy Metals Pollution in Sediment of Shatt Al-Hilla by Using Ecological Indices

Surficial sediment samples were collected from four stations at Shatt Al-Hilla from Western Zoer area to Almaimirh in Babylon province for the period from August 2016 to April 2017.The level of contamination in the sediments of Shatt Al-Hilla, by Lead (Pb), Copper (Cu), Nickle (Ni), Manganese (Mn), Zinc (Zn), Arsenic (As), and Cobalt (Co) has been evaluated using the index of Geo-accumulation (I-Geo), Contamination factor (CF), pollution load index (PLI) and Potential ecological risk index (Eire). UV-VIS Absorption Spectral Studies of N, N′-Bis(salicylidene)ethylenediamine (Salen) in Different Solvents

In the present study, the influence of various solvents on UV-VIS absorption spectra of N,N-Bis(salicylidene)ethylenediamine (Salen) has been investigated. Salen ligand has two absorption maxima (around 260 and 320 nm). To explain the obtained spectra, the frequencies and molar absorptivity values were combined with solvent properties using a total solvatochromic equation suggested by the Kamlet and Taft. The multiparametric examination denotes that non-specific dipolar interactions of the solvents (π*) with the solute play a significant role in absorption maxima in pure solvents. Molecular Diagnosis of Brucella species in Baghdad

Brucellosis is possess a significant public health problem in Baghdad. In this study, we investigated the potential role of the PCR assay in detection of Brucella species, from patients suspect to have brucellosis, using blood samples in both human and animal. To establish a PCR technique for diagnosis of active brucellosis in our samples, DNA extraction was carried out using a commercial kit, and a laboratory extraction procedure.
