biology Effect of Adding Microorganisms on the Degradation of Phenolic Compounds in Olive Mill Wastewater

Bio-treatment is considered as one of ecologically most efficient methods of wastewater treatment. This study was done in order to reduce the negative effects phenolic compounds included in the olive mill wastewater added to the cultivated soil and to study the individual and collective ability of fungal and bacterial isolates to dismantle them. The experiment, conducted in 2020 with randomization in experimental design, consisted of six treatments and three replications. First four treatments had olive mill wastewater treated with fungal isolates Penicillium sp, Aspergillus flavos and bacterial isolates Pseudomonas sp,Bacillus sp individually. The fifth treatment included collective use of both isolates, in addition to the control which was without any treatment. The results of the statistical analysis showed that the phenolic compounds amount remained in the treated water which indicated the superiority of Penicillium sp over all treatments, where the apparent superiority of phenolic compounds dismantling was over bacterial isolates. However it was significantly over the collective effects of fungal and bacterial isolates, Aspergillus flavos and the control.

Effect of Adding Chopped Carbon Fiber (CCF) on the Improvement of Gypsum Plaster Characteristicssss
Abstract
The current work studies the effect of adding chopped carbon fiber (CCF) on gypsum plaster properties (precisely the compressive strength and the modulus of rupture). The research plan consists of using six mixes of gypsum plaster; these mixes are divided into two groups according to the (Water/Gypsum) ratios (0.5 & 0.6). Each group was divided into three subgroups according to CCF volume fraction (Vf): 0.0%, 0.2% and 0.4%. Three cubic (50×50×50) mm and three prismatic (40×40×160) mm samples were performed for each mix. It was found that, the addition of CCF to the gypsum plaster mixes increases both the compressive strength and the modulus of rupture for both (W/G) ratios, an
... Show More

Effect of Some Polyphenolic Compounds on Biochemical Parameters in Leukemic Patients

ackground :Polyphenolic compounds are groups of naturally occurring compounds in different plants. They are promising product to protect, and prevent leukemia and many types of cancer by different mechanisms.
Objectives: The present study designed to study the effect of polyphenolic compounds [Ellagic acid (EA), Tannic acid (TA) and Caffiec acid (CA)] on GOT,GPT activities and total protein TP concentration in all types of leukemia [acute myeloblastic leukemia (AML), acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), chronic myeloblasti leukemia (CML) and chronic lymphoblastic leukemia (CLL)],in addition to compare the potency of these compounds among each other.
Patients and Methods: Blood samples were collected from a h

The Effect of Adding High-Density Polyethylene Polymer on the Engineering Characteristics for Sandy Soil

The loose sand is subject to large settlement when it is exposed to high stresses. This settlement is due to the nature of the high drainage of sand, which displays foundations and constructions to a large danger. The densification of loose sandy soils is required to provide sufficient bearing capacity for the structures. Thus soil stabilization is used to avoid failure in the facilities. Traditional methods of stabilized sandy soil such as fly ash, bituminous, and cement often require an extended curing period. The use of polymers to stabilize sandy soils is more extensive nowadays because it does not require a long curing time in addition to being chemically stable. In this study, the effect of adding different percent

Effect of Temperature on Reliability and Degradation of 0.63?m Laser Diode

The reliability of optical sources is strongly dependent on the degradation and device characteristics are critically dependent on temperature. The degradation behaviours and reliability test results for the laser diode device (Sony-DL3148-025) will be presented .These devices are usually highly reliable. The degradation behaviour was exhibited in several aging tests, and device lifetimes were then estimated. The temperature dependence of 0.63?m lasers was studied. An aging test with constant light power operation of 5mW was carried out at 10, 25, 50 and 70°C for 100hours. Lifetimes of the optical sources have greatly improved, and these optical sources can be applied to various types of transmission systems. Within this degradation range,

The Effect of Adding Poloxamer Surfactant on Cleaning Efficiency of NaOCl and NaOH (SEM Study)

Objectives: The purpose of this in vitro study was to compare the effect of adding a poloxamer surfactant to the irrigant solutions on its cleaning efficiency. Design: In this study the roots of extracted permanent premolar teeth were used and evaluated by using Scanning Electronic Microscopy (SEM). Materials and Method: 72 human single tooth of permanent premolar (8 for each group) were used in this in vitro study. Roots after sectioning at cervical area to get 15 mm were embedded in a plastic container filled with impression silicon, then instrumented with ProTaper rotary instruments till size F4. Each group (8 root) were irrigated with one of the nine solutions used in study: three concentrations of NaOH [5% (A1), 2.5%(A2), 0.5%(A3)], th
