DC Sputtering Deposition of Copper Oxide Thin Films Doped with Carbon for Efficient Solar Selective Absorbers
...Show More Authors

In this work, carbon-doped copper oxide thin films were deposited by the reactive DC sputtering method for use as selective absorbents. The properties of the DC discharge plasma were studied, using the emission spectrum, in the presence of pure argon and by mixing it with oxygen once and carbon dioxide again to know the effect of adding these gases on the properties of the resulting plasma used in the deposition of films. The structural properties of the deposited thin films prepared with different flow ratio of carbon dioxide gas were studied using x-ray diffraction. To examine the selective absorber coatings, the reflectance within the UV-Vis spectrum was measured to calculate the percentage of energy absorbed by solar radiation using numerical integration. The reflectance was also measured in the range from 2.5 to 25 μm to calculate the thermal emission of the solar heater within a temperature of 373 K. Measurements showed good efficiency as a selective absorption layer. The best absorptance of the solar spectrum (α) was 0.8750, and the lowest emittance (ε) in the infrared region was 0.254 at 25% percentage of carbon dioxide in the reactive gas of the sputtering system. So, this ratio has the highest efficiency as a selective absorber.

Extended calculations for  sputtering yield   through bombed Iron – target   by ( H,D ,T ,He )  ions plasma are accomplished .The calculations include changing the  input    parameters  :    the energy  of ( H,D ,T ,He ) ions plasma, the hit target angle of Iron, change  atomic   mass  of incident ion. The program TRIM is used to accomplish these calculations. The results     show   that   sputtering   yield is   directly   dependent   on   these parameters. It can   change the incident angle of ( H,D ,T ,He ) ions   and energy&n

Potentiometric Transducers for the Selective Recognition of Risperidone Based on Molecularly Imprinted Polymer
...Show More Authors

Graphite Coated Electrodes (GCE) based on molecularly imprinted polymers were fabricated for the selective potentiometric determination of Risperidone (Ris). The molecularly imprinted (MIP) and nonimprinted (NIP) polymers were synthesized by bulk polymerization using (Ris.) as a template, acrylic acid (AA) and acrylamide (AAm) as monomers, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA) as a cross-linker and benzoyl peroxide (BPO) as an initiator. The imprinted membranes and the non-imprinted membranes were prepared using dioctyl phthalate (DOP) and Dibutylphthalate (DBP) as plasticizers in PVC matrix. The membranes were coated on graphite electrodes. The MIP electrodes using

Coating of Carbon Nanotubes Using Chemical Method to Enhance the Corrosion Protection of Copper and Aluminum Metals in Seawater Medium
...Show More Authors

In this study, carbon nanotubes were prepared using a pure chemical method modified similar to the Hummers method with simple changes in the work steps. The carbon nanotubes were then coated and reduced on copper and aluminum metals using the electrodeposition method (EDP) for corrosion protection application in seawater medium (NaCl 3.5%) at four different temperatures: 20, 30, 40, and 50 °C, which were studied using three electrode potentiostats. All corrosion measurements, thermodynamics, and kinetics parameters were nominated from Tafel plots. The films deposited by the carbon nanotubes were examined by the SEM technique, and this technique showed the formation of carbon nanotubes.

Structural and Morphological Properties of as-Deposited and Heat -Treated Composite (CuPc/Alq3) Thin Films
...Show More Authors

In this work, an organic semiconductor of copper (II) phthalocyanine (CuPc) and Tris(8-hydroxyquinoline) aluminum (III) (Alq3) were entirely dissolved in chloroform with various mixing ratios (1:0,0.75:0.25,0.5:0.5,0.25:0.75,0:1) (w/w) to make thin films. They were deposited on a pre-cleaned glass using a spin-coating process and heat-treated at 473 K in vacuum. X-ray diffraction and a scanning electron microscope were used to investigate the films. XRD analysis reveals that CuPc/Alq3 composites have a polymorphic structure, with the exception of Alq3's amorphous structure, the crystallinity increases after annealing, but decreases when the concentration of Alq3 is increased. The quantity of (CuPc) rod-like structure and (Alq3) grain-lik

Thickness Influence on Structural and Optical Properties of ZnO Thin Films Prepared by Thermal Evaporation
...Show More Authors

A thermal evaporation technique was used to prepare ZnO thin films. The samples were prepared with good quality onto a glass substrate and using Zn metal. The thickness varied from (100 to 300) ±10 nm. The structure and optical properties of the ZnO thin films were studied. The results of XRD spectra confirm that the thin films grown by this technique have hexagonal wurtzite, and also aproved that ZnO films have a polycrystalline structure. UV-Vis measurement, optical transmittance spectra, showed high transmission about 90% within visible and infrared range. The energy gap is found to be between 3.26 and 3.14e.V for 100 to 300 nm thickness respectivly. Atomic Force Microscope AFM (topographic image ) shows the grain size incre

Structural and morphological investigation of bulk heterojunction blend (NiPc/C60) Thin films under heat treatment
...Show More Authors

Thin films of the blended solution of NiPc/C60 are fabricated using spin-coating method for three different ratios (100/1, 100/10 and 100/100) according to the weight. The films are deposited on to glass substrates and treated with several annealing temperatures (373, 423 and 473)K. The structure and surface morphology of the as-deposited and annealed films using x-ray diffraction and AFM was studied and exhibited a change and enhanced crystallization and surface morphology caused by changes in heat treatment temperatures. Investigation of X-ray diffraction patterns of NiPc/C60 indicated that it have polymorphism structure, i.e. mix between amorphous and polycrystalline structure. when heat treatment temperatures ch

The Structural and Optical Properties of Zinc Telluride Thin Films by Vacuum Thermal Evaporation Technique
...Show More Authors

Different thicknesseses of polycrystalline ZnTe films have been deposited on to glass substrates by vacuum evaporation technique under vacuum 2.1x10-5 mbar. The structural characteristics studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD) showed that the films are polycrystalline and have a cubic (zinc blende ) structure. The calculated microstructure parameters revealed that the crystallite size increases with increasing film thicknesses. The optical measurements on the deposited films were performed in different thicknesseses [ 400 , 450 and 500]nm, to determine the transmission spectrum and the absorption spectra as a function of incident wavelength. The optical absorption coefficient (α) of the films was determined from transmittance spectra in t
