Age Estimation Using Support Vector Machine
...Show More Authors

Recently there has been an urgent need to identify the ages from their personal pictures and to be used in the field of security of personal and biometric, interaction between human and computer, security of information, law enforcement. However, in spite of advances in age estimation, it stills a difficult problem. This is because the face old age process is determined not only by radical factors, e.g. genetic factors, but also by external factors, e.g. lifestyle, expression, and environment. This paper utilized machine learning technique to intelligent age estimation from facial images using support vector machine (SVM) on FG_NET dataset. The proposed work consists of three phases: the first phase is image preprocessing include four stages: grayscale image stage, histogram equalization stage, face detection stage has been carried out using viola jones algorithm, it comprises for four steps namely: Haar like Feature, integral image, Adaboost training, and cascading classifier, the last stage of image preprocessing phase is cropping and resize stage. The second phase is data mining include two stages: feature extraction stage using linear discriminate analysis and machine learning stage using support vector machine. The last phase is age estimation and evaluation. The FG-net dataset is used which divided into seven classes in order to has been became increased accuracy and reduce the execution time, the first class represents 3-7 years, the second class represents 8-13 years, the third class represents 14-19 years, the forth class represents 20-25 years, the fifth class represents 26-30 years, the sixth class represents 31-40 years and the seven class represents 41-50 years. Then, the seven classes are combined into three classes depending on the number of features. The Experimental results display that the proposed system can grant high accuracy. The practical evaluation of the proposed system gives accuracy is 84%.

The role of intestinal protozoa in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease exacerbation
...Show More Authors

chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a common respiratory disease with episodes of exacerbation. Variable factors including infectious pathogen can predispose for this exacerbation. The aim of this study is to evaluate the role of intestinal protozoa in COPD exacerbation. A total of 56 patients with COPD were included in this study. Patients were categorized into two groups based on the frequency of exacerbation during the last 6 months: those with ≤1 exacerbation (32 patients) and those with ≥2 exacerbations (24 patients). Stool specimens from each patient were collected two times (one week interval) examined for intestinal parasite. In univariate analysis, rural residence and parasitic infection were more common among patie

Numerical Modeling of Honeycombed Geocell Reinforced Soil
...Show More Authors

Shallow foundations have been commonly used to transfer load to soil layer within the permissible limits of settlement based on the bearing capacity of the soil. For most practical cases, the shape of the shallow foundation is of slight significance. Also, friction resistance forces in the first layers of soils are negligible due to non-sufficient surrounding surface area and compaction conditions. However, the bearing capacity of a shallow foundation can be increased by several techniques. Geocell is one of the geosynthetic tool applied mainly to reinforce soil. This study presents a numerical approach of honeycombed geocell steel panels reinforcing the sandy soil under shallow foundation, and several parameters are investigated such as th

Ratawi Field is a promising hydrocarbon bearing structure conforming several reservoirs, and lies northwest of the Basrah city and west of Northern Rumaila Field. Kinetic Analysis referred to that the type of Fold of Ratawi Structure similar to the types which are associated with Salt Structure activity.Geophysical Interpretation referred to the presence of Salt Structure beneath Ratawi Structure. The Isopach Maps shows that the crest thickness is less than the limbs, this characteristics is always due to those of salt structures beneath Ratawi field. Both of Tectonic Movement and Salt Structure play a great role in forming and development of Ratawi Structure.

A Theoretical Investigation on Chemical Bonding of the Bridged Hydride Triruthenium Cluster: [Ru3 (μ-H)( μ3-κ2-Hamphox-N,N)(CO)9]
...Show More Authors

Ruthenium-Ruthenium and Ruthenium–ligand interactions in the triruthenium "[Ru3(μ-H)(μ3-κ2-Hamphox-N,N)(CO)9]" cluster are studied at DFT level of theory. The topological indices are evaluated in term of QTAIM (quantum theory of atoms in molecule). The computed topological parameters are in agreement with related transition metal complexes documented in the research papers. The QTAIM analysis of the bridged core part, i.e., Ru3H, analysis shows that there is no bond path and bond critical point (chemical bonding) between Ru(2) and Ru(3). Nevertheless, a non-negligible delocalization index for this non-bonding interaction is calculated

WHAT IS DEMOCRACY? A MEDIA CONCEPT: (Socio-Cultural Linguistic Analysis)
...Show More Authors

It is easy to talk about democracy, but it is difficult to practice. We talk about postmodernism, but difficult to be embodied in the ground. Yet, the age of democracy and modernity at the same time prompted the researcher to try to find a media concept for it. It does not mean that this concept has not yet formed. But the rooting of democracy and the approaching of states and groups towards it, made it necessary to by studied again.

The relationship between democracy and the media has made them look like one concept. The existence of one is linked to the existence of the other. The reality is only a linguistic formulation, but the social and cultural aspect is related to democracy origin
