In the present work the performance of semifluidized bed adsorber was evaluated for removal of phenolic compound from wastewater using commercial activated carbon as adsorbent. P-chlorophenol (4-Chlorophenol) and o-cresol (2-methylphenol) was selected as a phenolic compound for that purpose. The phenols percent removal, in term of breakthrough curves were studied as affected by hydrodynamics limitations which include minimum and maximum semifluidization velocities and packed bed formation in the column by varying various parameters such as inlet liquid superficial velocity (from U_minsf to 8U_minsf m/s), and retaining grid (sometimes referred to as adsorbent loading) to initial static bed height ratio (from 3-4.5). Genetic Algorithms (GA) is a based population approach. It belongs to a metaheuristic procedure that uses population characteristics to guide the search. It maintains and improves multiple solutions which may produce a high-quality solution to an optimization problem. This study presents a comprehensive survey of the GA. We provide and discuss genetic algorithms for new researchers. We illustrate which components build up the GAs and view the main results on complexity time.

Snakes, or active contours, are used extensively in computer vision and image processing applications, particularly to locate object boundaries.  In this research, for the segmentation of anatomical structures in medical images three approaches were implemented and compared like (original snake model, distance potential force model and Gradient Vector Flow (GVF) snake model). We used Computed Tomography image (CT) for our experiments.  Our experiments show that original snake model has two problems; first is the limited capture range and the second is the poor convergence. Definitions of -preinterior and -preclosuer were given. Successively, several studies have appeared to give many generalizations for an open set. The object of our paper is to give a new type of generalization of an open set in a generalized topological space called -semi-p-open set. We present the definition of this set with its equivalent.
