Measurement of Absorbed Dose in Water Using Co-60 gamma source Teletherapy Units According to IAEA Dosimetry Protocols

Modern radiotherapy facilities like 3-Dimensional conformal radio therapy (3DCRT), Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT), were recently suggested in Co-60 machine with Multi-leaf Collimator (MLC). In this study, two reference chambers NE-2571#1205 and NE2581#537 were used for absolute dose measurement in Equinox accelerator. A comparison of dose measurement by two different IAEA protocols TRS-277 and TRS-398 has been studied. Analyzing TRS-398, a common shaped empirical formula was developed for the four Co-60 units of four Medical Colleges in Bangladesh with fitting parameters. It was found that an average discrepancy in the determination of absorbed dose in water among the two different protocols TRS-277 and TRS-398 were 1.33 % for the chamber NE-2571#1205 and 0.65 % for the chamber NE2581#537 with combined uncertainty ±1.59 % (k=1). A good convergence has been obtained in the concepts and methods in this study.

An Overview of Audio-Visual Source Separation Using Deep Learning

In this article, the research presents a general overview of deep learning-based AVSS (audio-visual source separation) systems. AVSS has achieved exceptional results in a number of areas, including decreasing noise levels, boosting speech recognition, and improving audio quality. The advantages and disadvantages of each deep learning model are discussed throughout the research as it reviews various current experiments on AVSS. The TCD TIMIT dataset (which contains top-notch audio and video recordings created especially for speech recognition tasks) and the Voxceleb dataset (a sizable collection of brief audio-visual clips with human speech) are just a couple of the useful datasets summarized in the paper that can be used to test A

Surface Contamination and Dose Rate Verification of Fertilizers common in Iraqi Plantations using RadEye B20 Detector

Twenty three samples of granular chemical fertilizers and organic fertilizers commonly utilized in Iraqi ranches were collected. The samples were prepaid and stored in a Marinelli beaker to measure; dose rate, general count rate and surface contamination of the samples using the RadEye B20 detector, firstly with shield, secondly without the shield to estimate the effect of shielding on the measurements. The results showed that using shield made a significant decrease in the radiation measurements reached about 25%. However the mean value of surface contamination, dose rate and general count rate with shield were 0.54Bq/cm2, 0.65µsv/h, and 0.28Cps respectively, and without shield being 0.34Bq/cm2, 1.33µsv/h, and 1.52Cps respectively

The Safety Profile of Single Daily Dose of Aminoglycosides in Comparison with Multiple Daily Dose

To overcome  the  problems  which  associated  with  the standard  multiple  daily  doses (MDD)

of aminoglycosides (AGs) like high incidence of toxicity(nephrotoxicity, ototoxicity)(5-25%) and high cost, an alternative approach was developed which was single daily dose (SDD).This new regimen was designed to maximize bacterial killing by optimizing the peak concentration/minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC)ratio and to reduce the potential for toxicity. The study includes 75 patients selected randomly, 50 of them received SDD regimen of age range of 17-79 years and the remaining received MDD regimen of age range of 13-71 years. The study was designed to evaluate the safety of SDD regim

Analysis of Acetylcholinesterase Gene Expression in Male Mice Exposed to Sublethal Dose of Endosulfan Pesticide

The aim of the current study was to investigate endosulfan effects on the Acetylcholinesterase (AChE) enzyme and gene in albino mice. Thirty selected male albino mice were randomly divided into 3 groups. The first group was control group (G1), while the other two treated groups were injected intraperitoneally twice per week with two doses of endosulfanG2 (3 mg/kg) and G3 (17 mg/kg) for 21 and 45 days respectively. The results recorded a significant decrease in AChE enzyme in the group treated with 17 mg/kg b.wt. (3986.67 ±170.32 U/L),compared to the control (5584.33 ±140.35 U/L)and treatment group with 3 mg/kg b.wt.(5556.00 ±341.01) U/L for 21 days. Also, there was a significant decrease in the enzyme level

ESTIMATION OF SOME CHEMICAL AND PHYSICAL PROPERTIES USING A WATER TREATMENT UNIT VORTISAND COMPARED TO THEIR CONCENTRATION IN WATER PRODUCED BY TRIDINTINAL DRINKING WATER PROJECTS IN BAGHDAD.: ESTIMATION OF SOME CHEMICAL AND PHYSICAL PROPERTIES USING A WATER TREATMENT UNIT VORTISAND COMPARED TO THEIR CONCENTRATION IN WATER PRODUCED BY TRIDINTINAL DRINKING WATER PROJECTS IN BAGHDAD.

This study was conducted to determine the ability of water treatment system (Vortisand) to reduce some chemical and physical properties for tigris river raw water, It consisted of turbidity, electrical conductivity, pH, total hardness, calcium Hardness as well as temperature in order to determine the unit`s efficiency for reducing their concentration as compared to those in the water produced by some classical potable water projects (Dora and Wathba) in Baghdad. Samples were collected during the cold months (December 2016 and January 2017) and during the hot months (May and June 2017). The results showed that this system has the ability to reduce some properties such as turbidity, the values were 215NTU in raw water and decreased to NTU

Using local Iraqi Bacillus isolate to reduce water salinity

Microbial desalination cell (MDC) has been created for expelling water saltiness, power generation, and wastewater administration. The MDC comprised of three chambers (anode, center desalination, and cathode). Were tested ability of type locally isolated bacteria Bacillus spp.in produce electricity to water desalination. In recent study results showed that a remove where the salinity recorded 4000 ppm at room temperature at the voltages of 0.6 volts and less salinity at room temperature at 0.2 volts was 200 ppm. Recent results highlight the need to reduce time for reduce salinity decreased from 3500 ppm to 500 ppm the eleventh day at a voltage of 0.5 volts that depended on type of substrate.

Simulation based comparison of routing protocols in wireless multihop adhoc networks

Routing protocols are responsible for providing reliable communication between the source and destination nodes. The performance of these protocols in the ad hoc network family is influenced by several factors such as mobility model, traffic load, transmission range, and the number of mobile nodes which represents a great issue. Several simulation studies have explored routing protocol with performance parameters, but few relate to various protocols concerning routing and Quality of Service (QoS) metrics. This paper presents a simulation-based comparison of proactive, reactive, and multipath routing protocols in mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs). Specifically, the performance of AODV, DSDV, and AOMDV protocols are evaluated and analyz
