Quantitative Interpretation of Gravity and Magnetic Anomalies in West of Tikrit City and Surroundings, Iraq
...Show More Authors

A quantitative interpretation of gravity and magnetic anomalies in west of Tikrit city and surroundings, has been completed utilizing Grav2dc and Mag2dc (2D, 2.5D) forward techniques. The modeling has been carried out along four profiles, two NW-SE profiles along the distinct gravity residual anomalies and two NE-SW profiles along the magnetic residual anomalies. The most geologic plausible model that matches the data was picked. The model along the gravity profile (A-A') reveal faulting of the basement, whereas along the profiles B-B', C-C' and D-D' did not present faulting. The models comprise of two rock units, the first is the sedimentary cover and the second unit is the basement rock. According to the results of modeling, thickness of the sedimentary cover and basement depth values are in good agreement with the results of previous studies. The upper part of sedimentary cover exhibited different density and susceptibility contrasts. These contrasts may be interpreted in term of lithological lateral variation.

The Influence of Diagenesis Processes on the Reservoir Properties of Hartha Formation in Selected oil Fields, Northern Iraq
...Show More Authors

The Hartha Formation reservoir was evaluated to be produced in the near future in Y oil and J fields, West of the Tigris River in northern Iraq. Due to geological data analysis of the Hartha facies and diagenesis could enhance oil production with minimized risks, this research tried to deal with data to support the oil production. The Hartha reservoir is subdivided into five-rock units, Har-1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. It is of Heterogenic facies limestone, dolomite, dolomitic limestone and argillaceous dolomite. The Hartha Formation is a clean carbonate; it has an effective porosity. It consists of lime mudstone-packstone skeletal grain. This conclusion is based on the lithology, core microfacies, cutting, thin section and log interpret

Use of collocant food items in Arabic and English
...Show More Authors

This paper investigates the collocational use of irreversible food binomials in the lexicons of English (UK) and Arabic (Iraq), their word-order motivations, cultural background, and how they compare. Data consisted in sixteen pairs in English, versus fifteen in Arabic. Data analysis has shown their word order is largely motivated by logical sequencing of precedence; the semantically bigger or better item comes first and the phonologically longer word goes last. These apply in a cline of decreasing functionality: logical form first, semantic importance second, phonological form last. In competition, the member higher in this cline wins first membership. While the entries in each list clearly reflect culturally preferred food meals in the UK

Abstract
<title>Objective

To describe changes in attitudes and expectations of labor over the previous six decades, comparing the Iraqi generation who labored at home without medical assistance with their descendants.

Study Design

We used semi‐structured telephone interviews with 22 women across three generations of one extended family living and giving birth in Iraq between the 1950s and the 2010s. Qualitative data were analyzed thematically using open, axial, and selective coding.

Results

Each generation experienced a paradigm shift in childbirth, from exclus

The recent study was conducted to measure some heavy metal content in potato and corn chips in Baghdad markets. Samples were analyzed by Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS). Four metals, Cobalt (Co), Cadmium (Cd), Cupper (Cu) and Lead (Pb) were determined. Two types belonging to two manufacturer resources and two trademarks for each resource were tested in this work. Generally, the study recorded that the potato chips were containing metals less than the corn chips. According to Iraqi criteria, all tested types of potato chips were under the allowed levels. The mean of accumulation trend for both types was: Cu>Co>Pb>Cd. The mean of accumulation trend for the corn types of chips was: Baz>Pufack> Fantasia > Snack. T

Mandali Basin is located between latitudes (33◦ 39' 00" and 33
54' 55") to the north and longitudes (45ο 11' 00" and 45ο 40' 00") to the
east; to the east of Diyala province at the Iraqi-Iranian border; the
basin area is approximately 491 km2.
From the study of climate reality of the basin between 1990-
2013and assessment of the basic climate transactions, it was found
that the annual rate of rainfall is 253.02 mm, the relative humidity
(44.4%), the temperature (21.3 ◦C), wind speed (2.08 m /sec.),
sunshine (8.27 h/day) and evaporation of the basin class (a) (271.98
mm) and corrected potential evapotranspiration (80.03 mm). The
results of the data analysis show that, there are

The affective factors on the urban growth for the port cities (analytical study of the growth of the Um Qasr city))
...Show More Authors

In this paper, the relationship between urban growth, land use, site availability, and impacts on the general appearance of the city generated by functional characteristics of port cities were analyzed. Various data were used to identify patterns of land use change and city growth and expansion. The research aims to analyze the impact of the port on the growth of the city, study the urban growth of the city of Umm Qasr and predicting the growth trends, and to identify the most influential factors in this growth. The study dealt with the concepts of urban growth and the factors that characterize the growth of port cities and the current situation of the city. The practical part included the mechanisms used by the researcher to analyze the
