The aim of this research is to develop mechanical properties of a new aluminium-lithium-copper alloy. This alloy prepared under control atmosphere by casting in a permanent metal mould. The microstructure was examined and mechanical properties were tested before and after heat treatment to study the influence of heat treatment on its mechanical properties including; modulus of elasticity, tensile strength, impact, and fatigue. The results showed that the modulus of elasticity of the prepared alloy is higher than standard alloy about 2%. While the alloy that heat treated for 6 h and cooled in water, then showed a higher ultimate tensile stress comparing with as-cast alloy. The homogenous heat treatment gives best fatigue

     Ground water is a vital source for agricultural sector and rural communities. The global climate change is expected to change the hydrometeorological processes parameters. The climate considered as part of the southern Iraqi desert general climate with long, extremely hot, and dry summer and short wet period with little rain.  So it is vital to investigate the groundwater quality for irrigation purposes.     This study done was carried out identify the species of parasitical lice on.   White cheeked bulbul(Pycnonotus leucotis).For this purpose 24 birds were collected from AlDiwaniya city and examined externally for the lice.The results showed that  P. leucotis  was infested with five species of chewing lice with a total infestation ratio of 87.5% .These species were:- Menacanthus sp., Columbicola columbae , Bonomiella columba , Coloceras damicorne and  Alcedoecus sp.       The result of this study represents the first isolation of these species from white cheeked bulbul in Iraq.The species were recorded from P. leucotis as a new host for such parasites.
