Factors Affecting Application Launch Time with Android OS
...Show More Authors

Android OS is developing very fast, and because of being an open source OS, it is vulnerable to many problems that are manifested to users directly or indirectly. Poor application launch time is one of these problems. In this paper, a set of sixteen experiments is established to distinguish the factors that have the most evident effects on application launch time in Android mobiles. These factors are application, launch and kill, events, and storage. Mann Kendall (MK) test, one way analysis of variance (ANOVA), and Design of Experiment (DOE) are used to prove the influence of factors statistically. As a result of the experiments, the application factor, especially the third party applications level, has the most prominent effects on application launch time, followed by launch and Kill and events, while storage had the least influence.

Use of Multi-Response Logistic Regression to Determine the Factors Affecting the Radiation Values of Light-Curing Units in Private Dental Clinics in Erbil
...Show More Authors

This study aims to determine the exposure of dentists to radiation resulting from the use of light therapy units and to assess their risk and impact on dental clinics.  This study was conducted in private dental clinics in the city of Erbil in northern Iraq. Surveys were conducted to collect information about light-curing units. The results were analysed using the multi-response logistic regression to determine the factors affecting the radiation values of light-curing units. The results of the study showed that five major variables have a major effect by radiation.  This is shown with a value of P ≤ 0.05. Typical treatment times with radiant light, with a typical number of daily restorations, may exceed the risk limits for

A Proposed Wavelet and Forecasting Wind Speed with Application
...Show More Authors

Time series analysis is the statistical approach used to analyze a series of data. Time series is the most popular statistical method for forecasting, which is widely used in several statistical and economic applications. The wavelet transform is a powerful mathematical technique that converts an analyzed signal into a time-frequency representation. The wavelet transform method provides signal information in both the time domain and frequency domain. The aims of this study are to propose a wavelet function by derivation of a quotient from two different Fibonacci coefficient polynomials, as well as a comparison between ARIMA and wavelet-ARIMA. The time series data for daily wind speed is used for this study. From the obtained results, the

Modeling and Forecasting Periodic Time Series data with Fourier Autoregressive Model
...Show More Authors

Most frequently used models for modeling and forecasting periodic climatic time series do not have the capability of handling periodic variability that characterizes it. In this paper, the Fourier Autoregressive model with abilities to analyze periodic variability is implemented. From the results, FAR(1), FAR(2) and FAR(2) models were chosen based on Periodic Autocorrelation function (PeACF) and Periodic Partial Autocorrelation function (PePACF). The coefficients of the tentative model were estimated using a Discrete Fourier transform estimation method. FAR(1) models were chosen as the optimal model based on the smallest values of Periodic Akaike (PAIC) and Bayesian Information criteria (PBIC). The residual of the fitted models was diagn

Fuzzy Linear Discriminant Analysis Clustering With Its Application
...Show More Authors

Many fuzzy clustering are based on within-cluster scatter with a compactness measure , but in this paper explaining new fuzzy clustering method which depend on within-cluster scatter with a compactness measure and between-cluster scatter with a separation measure called the fuzzy compactness and separation (FCS). The fuzzy linear discriminant analysis (FLDA) based on within-cluster scatter matrix and between-cluster scatter matrix . Then two fuzzy scattering matrices in the objective function assure the compactness between data elements and cluster centers .To test the optimal number of clusters using validation clustering method is discuss .After that an illustrate example are applied.

This research aimed at identifying the factors that affecting in the recruitment of a teaching staff for the Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) in university teaching at the University of Khartoum. The descriptive method was followed. The questionnaire was used as a tool for data collection,, which was distributed directly to a sample of (181) respondent of the teaching staff members of the senate at University of Khartoum from those who were attend at the senate meeting No. (409) which was held on 22 August 2016 Of (272). The researcher followed for the distribution the chance method, where each questionnaire was distributed to each of a teaching staff from different faculties at the University of Khartoum, according to his willingness
