The detection of fungi contaminating maize grain and the effect of four plant extracts Azadirachta indica, Eucalyptus globulus Glycyrrhiza glabra and Zingiber officinale on the growth of A. flavus and its ability to produce AflatoxinB1. The results showed that the incidence of Aspergillus spp., was 52.75% of the isolated fungi, of which 29.50% was due to Aspergillus flavus, followed by Penicillium spp., with an incidence of 21.06%, and then Fusarium spp., with a rate of 18.13%.    A reseach is carried out by using Alumina material type α-Al2O3 which has partical size 63μm doped with different percentage weight of MgO (0.1%,0.3%and0.5%) and by using dry press method to prepare the samples ,A force press 50KN used and sintering to 1500oC with   soaking time  of  6 hours.        The physical properties were studied such as "Bulk density ,Porosity and water absorption "also the mechanical properties such as (hardness,compressive strength ), the result shows that the best ratio of maginsa(MgO) added to Alumina (Al2O3)is 0.5%and this  worked to improve   Physical and mechanical properties .

However, the profile of circulating T-lymphocyte subsets and related cytokines during asthmatic attacks is still unclear. We compared the serum concentrations of proinflammatory cytokines Interleukine-18( IL-18) and Interleukine-12(IL-12), T-helper 2 (Th2) cytokine Interleukine-13(IL-13 ) and Immunoglobuline-E ( IgE) in 27 asthmatic children and 21 sex and age matched healthy control subjects. This study is carried out on patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus to assess the lipid profile, malondialdehyde and glutathione. Our study is concerned with 51 (Iraqi Arab females) patients of type 2 diabetes mellitus compared with 31 control subjects unified in age, sex and ethnic background. Lipid profile is measured by using commercially available kits, while the serum MDA and glutathione levels are measured by means of sandwich ELISA test using commercially available kits. Serum MDA is significantly higher (P<0.001) while glutathione is significantly lower (P<0.001) in type 2 diabetic patients when compared to the control.     The current experiment was conducted to explore the effect of soil crude oil ( crude oil ) pollution on some wood properties of   Casuarina equisetifolia.      Four levels of pollution were applied on 40 (one-year) old seedlings . Measurements were taken by cutting the trees after two growth seasons from date of pollution .The studied Properties were fiber length, diameter, wall thickness, and specific gravity of external and internal wood.  Results showed an adverse effect of pollution on fiber diameter more than on fiber length.  The performance of the Indian wheat varieties (PBW34, PBW343 and WH542) was compared with the local varieties (Tamose – 2 and Abu Ghareeb).      The experiment was conducted during two seasons first 2000-2001 and second 2001-2002 at AL- Twaitha experimental station , middle of Iraq.         The results showed that (Tamose – 2) exceeded the other varieties in plant height and heading date in the two seasons, while WH542 gave the lowest plant height.  PBW34 variety showed a significant increase in 1000 grain weight followed by PBW343 in the second season. Moreover, PBW34 and PBW343 gave the highest average of 50 spike weight in the second season.&nbsp
