This review will focus on protein and peptide separation studies of the period 1995 to 2010. Peptide and protein analysis have developed dramatically after applying mass spectrometry (MS) technology and other related techniques, such as two-dimensional liquid chromatography and two-dimensional gel electrophoresis. Mass spectrometry involves measurements of mass-to-charge ratios of the ionized sample. High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) is an important technique that is usually applied before MS is conducted due to its efficient separation. Characterization of proteins provides a foundation for the fundamental understanding of biology aspects. In this review, instrumentation, principle, applications, developments, and accuracy of the measurements of mass spectrometry will be reviewed and discussed. In addition, the principles of HPLC technology will be explained, which is necessary before applying MS.
One hundred samples of root canal bacteria were isolated from patients teeth with primary and secondary infected root canal from all the ages . Biochemical and microscopial tests were done for identification of these isolates. Twenty four isolates were confirmed as E. faecalis species by using these tests. Genetic diagnosis for the all isolates was also done by using polymerase chain reaction ( PCR ). Thirty two isolates were confirmed to belong to E. faecalis species by using this test.
15 local isolates of Pseudomonas were obtained from 35 samples from several sources such as soil, water and some high-fat foods. Show MoreThe purposes of this study are to measure masculine's identification among secondary school students, and to examine the significant differences among secondary school students in respect of students age (16-18) year. The researcher has prepared a questionnaire comprised (25) item to measure masculine identification among students: this scale was applied on (100) student who were selected as a sample from four different school at al-rusafa side in Baghdad. The scale then modified to (23) item to be more consistent. The results revealed that there were no significant differences among students based on the variable of age, and the mean of masculine identification showed a high level than the hypothesized mean.
