Entrance Surface Dose for patient`s undergoing X-ray examinations at Sebha medical center "Libya"

Diagnostic X-ray is one of the ionizing radiation that plays an important role in medical examination. Despite its great benefit, it is considered the largest source of artificial radiation exposure to public. The aim of the study is to measure the entrance surface dose (ESD) of patients undergoing chest, lumber spine and knee X-ray examination using TLD-100. The mean Entrance surface dose of chest (PA), lumber spine (AP, LAT) and knee (AP, LAT) are 1.3mGy, 8.57mGy, 21.5mGy and 0.49mGy, 0.48mGy respectively. The ESDs measured were found to be higher than the published work.

Measurements of X-Ray Dose Delivered at Different Depths Applied on Water Phantom

Background: Radiotherapy, is therapy using ionizing radiation in order to deliver an optimal dose of either particulate or electromagnetic radiation to a particular area of the body with minimal damage to normal tissues. The source of radiation may be outside the body of the patient (external beam irradiation) or it may be an isotope that has been implanted or instilled into abnormal tissue or a body cavity. Called also radiotherapy. The aim of work studies the relationship between the depth dose and the high photon xray energies (6MeV and 10MeV). Patients and methods: in our work, we studied the dose distribution in water phantom given at different depths (zero-18) cm deep at1cm intervals treated with different field size (5×5-,10×1

Using X-Ray Films for Evaluation efficiency of Unsaturated Polyester Reinforced by Lead Oxide as Shielding for Medical X-ray Devices

The largest use of x-ray in medical by dentists, employers or persons that needed by patients with specific conditions, lead to higher exposure of x-ray that may cause many diseases. In the present work radiography films have been used in evaluating the efficiency of using unsaturated polyester polymer reinforced with lead oxide (PbO) as shield material for medical x-ray devices, many parameters studied like concentration and thickness that they are increasing the attenuation of x-ray in them. The results show that the attenuation of X-ray increasing with concentration of reinforced material and with thickness, and the optical density decreases with increasing concentration from 0% to 50%, we chose 30% as suitable concentration to increase

Depth dose measurement in water phantom for two X-ray energies (6MeV and 10MeV) in comparison with actual planning

The purpose of this study is to measure doses delivered at different depths in water phantom at vertical position in comparison with the actual planning in order to verify the dose delivered to the tumor in addition to the measurement of the effect penumbra dose to assess the dose leaking to the healthy soft tissue.

Percentage depth dose (PDD) values was measured at field sizes (5×5,10×10,15×15, and 20×20) cm2, and the depth dose was measured between (0-16) cm deep at 4cm intervals, for both energies 6 MeV and 10 MeV X-ray beam. Other readings were taken at different distances 1cm and 2cm outside of the actual beam in orthogonal directions at depth of 4 cm. These measurements we

Risk Of Cancer And Radiation Dose Received By Patients From Common Diagnostic Radiological Examinations

Background: Although radiological diagnostic studies (RDS) are an important and acceptable part of medical practice, it is not without hazards. It is associated with increased risk of cancer. Unfortunately the typical and safe dose of each radiological examination is not known. Most of our knowledge of cancer risk comes from studies of survivors of those exposed to whole body radiation from atomic bomb in Hiroshima & Nagasaki, jobs associated with radiation exposure, Chernobyl survivors & patients treated with radiation therapy for cancer and other diseases.

Objectives   To estimate radiation dose received by patients from diagnostic radiological examinations and lifetime

Diagnose COVID-19 by using hybrid CNN-RNN for Chest X-ray

<p>Combating the COVID-19 epidemic has emerged as one of the most promising healthcare the world's challenges have ever seen. COVID-19 cases must be accurately and quickly diagnosed to receive proper medical treatment and limit the pandemic. Imaging approaches for chest radiography have been proven in order to be more successful in detecting coronavirus than the (RT-PCR) approach. Transfer knowledge is more suited to categorize patterns in medical pictures since the number of available medical images is limited. This paper illustrates a convolutional neural network (CNN) and recurrent neural network (RNN) hybrid architecture for the diagnosis of COVID-19 from chest X-rays. The deep transfer methods used were VGG19, DenseNet121

Effect of indium content on X- ray diffraction and optical constants of InxSe1-x thin films

Alloys of InxSe1-x were prepared by quenching technique with
different In content (x=10, 20, 30, and 40). Thin films of these alloys
were prepared using thermal evaporation technique under vacuum of
10-5 mbar on glass, at room temperature R.T with different
thicknesses (t=300, 500 and 700 nm). The X–ray diffraction
measurement for bulk InxSe1-x showed that all alloys have
polycrystalline structures and the peaks for x=10 identical with Se,
while for x=20, 30 and 40 were identical with the Se and InSe
standard peaks. The diffraction patterns of InxSe1-x thin film show
that with low In content (x=10, and 20) samples have semi
crystalline structure, The increase of indium content to x=30
decreases degree o
