Gel-biopolymers were prepared by different weights of two polymers (PVA, and PEG) dissolved with distilled water. Thick films of these polymers were prepared by using the casting method, with different thicknesses (t= 0.48, 0.34mm for PVA and t=0.58 mm for PEG). The objective of this research is to determine the viability of the organic polymer films of PEG and PVA on decomposition and the time required for their degradation in the soil. The purpose is to use these polymers in industry without leaving plastic residues along with the possibility of their application as fertilizers for soil. The results showed that PEG film was degraded during the first week, while PVA film was changed in weight from 0.3 to 0.23 g and thickness from 0.34to 0.21 cm. We also observed change in the shape of the sample along with ripples and holes during three month.
One of the major problems facing the road construction engineer is the collapsible granular soil which may be used for embankment construction. Problems appears when such compacted soil come in touch with water, it exhibits cracking and uncontrolled settlement. Collapsible soils are defined as any unsaturated soil that goes through a radical rearrangement of practice and great loss of volume upon wetting, with or without additional loading. An attempt has been made in this investigation to stabilize the collapsible soil of Nasiriya with asphalt emulsion. Specimens of pure and asphalt emulsion stabilized soil have been prepared using optimum fluid content and tested. The first group of specimens of (60x60x20) cm have been tested for direct s

Show MoreSoil stabilization with liquid asphalt is considered as a sustainable step towards roadway construction on problematic subgrade soil, there are no requirements to import good quality materials or to implement energy consumption, but to mix the readily available soil with liquid asphalt through the cold mix technique. In this work, collapsible soil obtained from Nasiriya was mixed with asphalt emulsion, lime, and combinations of lime and asphalt emulsion (combined stabilization) and tested in the laboratory for California bearing ratio in dry and soaked conditions. Field trial sections have been prepared with the same combinations and subjected to plate bearing test. The influence of combined stabilization on the structural properties in ter

Show MoreCollapsible behaviour of soil is considered as one of the major problems in the stability of roadway embankment, the lack of cohesion between soil particles and its sensitivity to the change of moisture content are reasons for such problem. Creation of such cohesion may be achieved by implementation of liquid asphalt and introduction of Nano additives. In this work, silica fumes, fly ash and lime have been implemented with the aid of asphalt emulsion to improve the unconfined compressive strength of the collapsible soil. Specimens of 38 mm in diameter and 76 mm height have been prepared with various percentages of each type of Nano additive and fluid content. Specimens were subjected to unconfined compressive strength determination at dry a

The used polymers were cold water-soluble polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) of low molecular weight with PEG 400 as plasticizer and Tween 80 (to enhance the release) using micro molding technique. Patches were studied for needle morphology, drug content, axial fracture force measurement and drug release while the optimized formulas were further subjected to pH measurement, folding endurance, ex vivo permeation study, histopathology study, stability study and

The human intellect and his ability to complex thinking is a characteristic that Allah has given him above all his creatures. Islam came to encourage the utilization of the mind by thought, contemplation and consideration of the kingdom of Allah, His signs and religion, and He gave us a set of legislation that preserves the mind and protects it from falling into error or deviation.
This research deals with one of the most important components of civilizations in general and Islamic civilization in particular, which is thinking and what is related to it. It is an essential and influential component in man's dealing with life around him and the for

The analysis, behavior of two-phase flow incompressible fluid in T-juction is done by using "A Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) model" that application division of different in industries. The level set method was based in “Finite Element method”. In our search the behavior of two phase flow (oil and water) was studed. The two-phase flow is taken to simulate by using comsol software 4.3. The multivariable was studying such as velocity distribution, share rate, pressure and the fraction of volume at various times. The velocity was employed at the inlet (0.2633, 0.1316, 0.0547 and 0.0283 m/s) for water and (0.1316 m/s) for oil, over and above the pressure set at outlet as a boundary condition.
