Crab shells were used to produce chitosan via the three stages of deproteinization, demineralization and deacetylation using sodium hydroxide and hydrochloric acid under different treatment conditions of temperature and time. The produced chitosan was characterized using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIRS), X-ray diffraction (XRD), high – resolution scanning electron microscopy (HRSEM), electron dispersion spectroscopy (EDS), dynamic light scattering (DLS), Brunauer Emmett Teller (BET) and Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The adsorption behavior of chitosan to remove arsenic (As) and copper (Cu) from electroplating wastewater was examined by batch adsorption process as a function of adsorbent dose, contact time and temperature. The FTIR, XRD, HRSEM and EDS analyses confirmed, respectively, the presence of –NH2 and –OH functional groups, with amorphous/crystalline phases, crystallinity index of 69.54%, needle-like morphology and Carbon (C), Oxygen (O) and Nitrogen N) in the produced chitosan. While DLS, BET and TGA showed, respectively, that the produced chitosan has an average particle size of 729nm, is moderately polydisperse, has12.67 m2/g surface area, mesoporous in nature, and with thermal stability of up to 1430C. The optimum adsorbent dose, contact time and temperature values to remove As and Cu by chitosan were 15mg, 45 minutes, 333K and25mg, 60 minutes, 349K,respectively. Under the employed conditions, chitosan though has a low surface area, displaying high adsorption capacity for both metal ions. The adsorption isotherm data were better fitted to the Jovanovic isotherm model while the kinetic data fitted best to the pseudo-second order model. The thermodynamic studies established that the adsorption was feasible but endothermic in nature. This study shows that chitosan adsorbents purify electroplating wastewater.
Contracaecum rudolphii Hartwich, 1964 is a nematode which causes major concerns to human and wildlife animal’s health. However, the population genetics of C. rudolphii has been poorly studied in Iraq. In order to gain a deeper understanding in the outline of the genetic diversity of the nematode C. rudolphii that were isolated from its host cormorant Phalacrocorax carbo (Linnaeus, 1758), in the middle areas of Iraq, twenty specimens of C. rudolphii adults were isolated from nine individuals of P. carbo. The first (ITS-1) internal transcribed spacers (ITS) of ribosomal DNA (rDNA) of C. rudolphii were amplified using conventional polymerase chain reaction (PCR); then, the amplicons were subjected to sequencing. Concatenation of ITS

M. . xanthus isolates had been subjected to the morphological, cultural and biochemical examinations for identification . Results obtaind could be summarized as follows : 1. Myxobacteria were found as normal flora inhabitants of the arid soils. 2. Ten local isplates of M. xanthus out of (50) soil samples were isolated
A study carried out on ceramic material made at (a-Al2O3) doped with MgO (0.5 , 0.3 , 0.2,0.1)%,with particle size at 63mm.
A Hydraulic press of 5kn at diameter of 2cm.A nnalelling at 1500Co and 6 hrs still to see the effect on the changes of the dielectric material. With frequency range at (1K – 1M) Hz. The shape for even-even (54Xe 118≤ A ≤ 140 and 82Pb 204 ≤ A ≤ 210 ) nuclei have been studied and investigated through the deformation parameters and δ , these deformation parameters were calculated by two different methods. The first one is nucleus quadrupole deformation parameter β2 from reduced transition probability B(E2)↑ for 0+→2+1 transitions and the second is nucleus quadrupole deformation parameters δ from quadrupole moment Qo.The relationship between two deformation parameters ( , ) and neutrons magic number (N=82 & 126) was studied through plotting the deformation parameters ( , ) as a function of neutrons number , from this relationship we can see very cleary that the deformation of nucleus decreased when th

(Asteraceae) known as marigold is known to have several pharmacological activities and used for the treatment of several diseases as measles, jaundice, constipation and several inflammations. Marigold flowers contain several chemical constituents mainly flavonoids, triterpenoids and essential oil. In this study marigold flowers cultivated in Iraq had been investigated for its flavonoids content. The study revealed the presence of quercetin and kaempferol glycosides and the absence of myricetin glycosides. The flowers were extracted with ethanol 70% fractionated with different solvent and the flavonoids were isolated by preparative HPLC. The isolated flavonoids were identified by measuring melting points, UV, IR,
