Linear Polynomial Coding with Midtread Adaptive Quantizer
...Show More Authors

In this paper, a hybrid image compression technique is introduced that integrates discrete wavelet transform (DWT) and linear polynomial coding. In addition, the proposed technique improved the midtread quantizer scheme once by utilizing the block based and the selected factor value. The compression system performance showed the superiority in quality and compression ratio compared to traditional polynomial coding techniques.

Multibiometric System with Runs Bits Permutation for Creating Cryptographic key Generation Technique
...Show More Authors

The context of multibiometric plays a pivotal role in enhancing an identification system, since a biometric system is  now  the most physical way of identifying and verifying individuals. The feature of multibiometric could be merged to produce  identification information. However, unimodal biometric systems suffer from different types of breaching. Thus, mixing biometrics with cryptography leads to overcome small variations existing between diverse acquisitions of the same biometric in order to produce the  robust system.  In this paper, a new robust multibiometric system is proposed to create a random key from person multibiometric, facial and fingerprint images which are used simultaneously to produce this key. Several man

Fabrication and Characterization of High-Performance Crosslinked PVA/ PMDA Doped with H2SO4
...Show More Authors

In the present study, pure Poly(viny1 alcohol) (PVA) and  pyromellitic dianhydride (PMDA) cross linked PVA with (0,5,10,15 and 20)wt.% and doped with different molarity (5,9)M of sulfuric acid (H2SO4) were prepared by the solution casting method and were characterized as a function of  frequency in the range (1-100) KHz.

The FT-IR results showed that the strong broad band observed at 3738.05 and 3857.63 cm-1 may be assigned to O-H stretching due to the strong hydrogen bond of intramolecular and intermolecular type in PVA film.  When PVA is doped with 5M and 9M H2SO4,  a new peak was noticed at 813 cm-1, this peak may be due to the fo

Air Pollution with Asbestos Fibers in Some Heavy Traffic Areas of Baghdad
...Show More Authors

This research was conducted to measure the levels of asbestos fibers in the air of some dense sites of Baghdad city, which were monitored in autumn 2019. Samples collection was conducted via directing air flow to a mixed cellulose ester membrane filter mounted on an open‑faced filter holder using sniffer with a low flow sampling pump. Air samples were collected from four studied areas selected in some high traffic areas of Baghdad city, two of them were located in Karkh (Al-Bayaa and Al-Shurta tunnel) and two in Rusafa (Al-Jadriya and Al-Meshin complex), then analyzed to determine concentrations of asbestos. Measuring of levels of asbestos fibers on the filters was carried out via using scanning electron micros

Assessment of lipid profile with HbA1c in type 2 diabetic Iraqi patients
...Show More Authors

Insulin-induced hyperglycemia is the hallmark of diabetes mellitus (DM), including various metabolic disorders. Diabetic people are more likely to develop dyslipidemia, hypertension, and obesity. Type 2 diabetes ‎(T2DM), the most common illness, is generally asymptomatic in its early stages and can go misdiagnosed for years. Diabetes screening may be beneficial in some cases since early identification and treatment can lessen the burden of diabetes and its consequences.‎ This study aimed to find the relationship between Glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) ‎and lipid profile components in T2DM‎ patients. This descriptive-analytical and cross-sectional study was performed on the control group and T2DM patients in ‎Medical City in Baghdad be

Exploring the biological activity of organotin carboxylate complexes with 4-sulfosalicylic acid
...Show More Authors

ABSTRACT. 4-Sulfosalicylic acid (SSA) was used as a ligand to prepare new triphenyltin and dimethyl-tin complexes by condensation with the corresponding organotin chloride salts. The complexes were identified by different techniques, such as infrared spectra (tin and proton), magnetic resonance, and elemental analyses. The 119Sn-NMR was studied to determine the prepared complexes' geometrical shape. Two methods examined the antioxidant activity of (SSA) and prepared complexes; Free radical scavenging activity (DPPH) and CUPRRAC methods. Tri and di-tin complexes gave high percentage inhibition than ligands with both methods due to tin moiety; the triphenyltin carboxylate complex was the best compared with the others. Also, antibacter
