This study was performed to assess the correlation of serum interleukins (ILs) levels with anthropometric data and lipid profile status in blood samples obtained from 100 Iraqi obese women with polycystic ovary syndrome PCOS. Obese non PCOS healthy women (n=75) matching in age (19-38 years) and body mass index(29.9-33.4kg/m2) served as a control group. The samples were collected from Kamal Al-Samurai Teaching hospital during the period of December 2017- June 2018.ELISA kits were used to measure serum levels of IL-6,IL-10,IL-18, IL-29,IL-33,tumor necrotic factor (TNF-α),high sensitive C-reactive protein (hsCRP), insulin, total testosterone, and sex hormone binding globulin(SHBG).The biochemical measurements of blood glucose and lipid profile were performed by conventional colorimetricmethods. The results demonstrated significant differences(P < 0.01) in serum levels of all interleukins and lipid profile parameters in obese PCOS in comparison with obesenon PCOS control women. In addition, PCOS women had higher insulin and FAI levels in comparison to non PCOS women. The findings suggest that androgen excess, indicated by high free androgen index (FAI),might serve as an indicator of a prediabetic status, as it might promote insulin resistance and ð›½-cell dysfunction in PCOS women. Circulatory interleukin levels in obese PCOS women may act on the development of insulin resistance and androgen oversupply in PCOS,suggesting that high serum ILs levels were related to insulin resistance (IR) and androgen excess but not to body mass index. A high IL level is not an elemental characteristic of PCOS, but it may act in promoting IR and hyperandrogenism of PCOS.
Rheumatoid arthritis is one of the common chronic disease, which lead to great disability and chronic pain, and has a main adverse economic and social effect upon patients. The reason for the addition of quality of life as a pointer for health outcome result is attributed to the affectability of this measure for the evaluation of patient's health status after taken treatment and its health outcome. The purpose of the current study was to assess quality of life among a sample of Iraqi patients with rheumatoid arthritis and to determine the possible association between health’s related quality of life and some patient-certain factors. This study is a cross-sectional study carried out on 250 already diagnosed rheumatoid arthritis pat

Taking patient’s beliefs about the prescribed medication in consideration had been shown to be an important factor that affects compliance of the patient in whom having positive beliefs is a prerequisite for better compliance. The aim of the current study was to investigate and assess beliefs about medicines among a sample of Iraqi patients with inflammatory bowel disease and to determine possible association between these beliefs and some patient-specific factors.

It regulates the secretion and sensitivity of insulin while suppressing glucagon secretion and decreasing postprandial glucose levels , additionally, glucagon-like peptide-1 delays gastric emptying and suppresses appetite. The impaired secretion of glucagon-like peptide-1 has negative influence on hyperlipidemia, diabetes and insulin resistance related diseases the levels of its secretion change with the intake of different nutrients. Some drugs also have influence on GLP-1 secretion .
Serum samples were obtained from patients suffering from chronic Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) disease. They were divided into three groups; 20 patients with RA taking biological treatment Etanercept (Enbrel), 20 patients with RA not taking biological treatment (disease modifying anti-rheumatic drug) and 10 people as healthy control group. The ages of these patients and control group were between 46-50 years old; one male and 19 female in each group. The samples were used for measuring the levels of Interleukin (IL)-1 Beta and Interleukin-10 using the Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay technique. Both interleukins were at their highest levels in the group of RA patients treated with biological treatment followed by the RA patients group that

A feasible research was conducted to provide more understanding of viral load, effectiveness of Harvoni drug on virus concentration, and distribution of virus genotypes in Iraqi patients. Ninety eight HCV cases were investigated in this research , including 52 untreated, with an average age ± SE of 45.26 ± 2.97 years, and 46 treated with Harvoni therapy, with an average age of 39.30 ± 3.90 years. In addition, eighty healthy persons with an average age of 29.40 ± 2.84 years were included as control. These cases were attending to the Special Nursing Home Hospital in Baghdad between December 2018

The aim of this study was to evaluate the distances from the maxillary posterior root apices to the inferior wall of the maxillary sinus, thickness and density of maxillary sinus floor using cone-beam computed tomography images and the relationships between roots and maxillary sinus according to gonial angle and skeletal pattern. Materials and methods: Three-dimensional images of each root were checked, and the distances were measured along the true vertical axis from the apex of the root to the sinus floor, and the thickne
