Correlation Between Serum Interleukinslevels with Anthropometric Data and Lipid Profiles in Obese Iraqi Women With Polycystic Ovary Syndrome
...Show More Authors

This study was performed to assess the correlation of serum interleukins (ILs) levels with anthropometric data and lipid profile status in blood samples obtained from 100 Iraqi obese women with polycystic ovary syndrome PCOS. Obese non PCOS healthy women (n=75) matching in age (19-38 years) and body mass index(29.9-33.4kg/m2) served as a control group. The samples were collected from Kamal Al-Samurai Teaching hospital during the period of December 2017- June 2018.ELISA kits were used to measure serum levels of IL-6,IL-10,IL-18, IL-29,IL-33,tumor necrotic factor (TNF-α),high sensitive C-reactive protein (hsCRP),  insulin, total testosterone, and sex hormone binding globulin(SHBG).The biochemical measurements of blood glucose and  lipid profile were performed by conventional colorimetricmethods. The results demonstrated significant  differences(P < 0.01) in serum levels of all interleukins and  lipid profile parameters in obese PCOS in comparison with obesenon PCOS control women. In addition, PCOS women had higher insulin and FAI levels in comparison to non PCOS women. The findings suggest that androgen excess, indicated by high free androgen index (FAI),might serve as an indicator of a prediabetic status, as it might promote insulin resistance and 𝛽-cell dysfunction in PCOS women. Circulatory interleukin levels in obese PCOS women may act on the development of insulin resistance and androgen oversupply in PCOS,suggesting that high serum ILs levels were related to insulin resistance (IR) and androgen excess but not to body mass index. A high IL level is not an elemental characteristic of PCOS, but it may act in promoting IR and hyperandrogenism of PCOS.

Correlation of Neuroendocrine Differentiation with Neuroendocrine Cell Hyperplasia and Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor in Colorectal Adenocarcinoma
...Show More Authors

Neuroendocrine differentiation has been mentioned in many cancers of non-neuroendocrinal organs, involving the gastrointestinal tract. In contrast, the correlation of focally diffused neuroendocrine differentiation in colorectal adenocarcinoma with neuroendocrine cell hyperplasia has not been somewhat reported. The objective of this research is to study the relationship between neuroendocrine cell hyperplasia and neuroendocrine differentiation in colorectal adenocarcinoma and to find the correlation of neuroendocrine differentiation and VEGF expression with clinicopathological parameters of colorectal adenocarcinoma. Methods employed in the current study were including eighty-one patients with colorectal cancer. Formalin fixed paraffin e

Correlation of interleukin 6 (IL-6) with estrogen and progesterone receptor expression in breast cancer patients
...Show More Authors

Background: Multifunctional cytokines play important and only partially defined roles in mammary tumor development and progression. Normal human mammary epithelial cells constitutively produce interleukin 6(IL-6) and a non-secreted form of tumor necrosis factor. Transformation of mammary epithelial cells by different oncogenesis is frequently associated with alterations of cytokine/ growth factor production and responsiveness.
Methods: We measured levels of 1L-6 in 84 females with breast cancer and examined their correlation with clinicopathological variables including stages of the disease and estrogen and
progesterone receptor expression on tumor cell.
Results: Our results revealed significantly higher

Serum leptin and 25 Hydroxyvitamin D levels in patients with type II diabetes mellitus
...Show More Authors

Background: Vitamin D and Leptin appears to play a range of roles in beta cell growth and insulin secretion and most importantly interaction with other hormonal mediators and regulators of energy and metabolism. Objective: The aim of this study was to measure serum leptin and vitamin D levels and to investigate their relationships with vitamin D and other clinical laboratory parameters in patients with type II diabetes. Subjects and Methods: Blood samples were taken from 80 patients with type II diabetes mellitus encountered during their attending the Internal Medicine clinic consultancy in Ramadi Teaching Hospital and the National Diabetes Center for Treatment and Research at Al-Mustansiriya University and 60 healthy subject. Objective To detect the changes in serum Lipids among Iraqi patients with active Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) and the effects of drug therapy.
Patients and methods Fifty Iraqi patients with untreated active Rheumatoid Arthritis and 50 matched healthy control were studied with concentration on estimation of fasting serum Lipid profile which is repeated after 3month treatment with different disease modifying anti Rheumatic drugs (DMARDs) regimens.
Results Fifty Iraqi patients were included in this prospective study 47 females (94%) and 3 males (6%). The mean age of patients was (45±3.20).
fifty healthy individuals were included in this study as a control group 45 females (90%) and 5 males (10%) the mean age of the control group was

The effect of pregnancy on peak expiratory flow rate in comparison with non-pregnant Iraqi women Sample in MARJAN Teaching Hospital
...Show More Authors

Background: Profound alterations of respiratory function physiology accompany pregnancy; these conditions contribute to many of the disorders of the lung during pregnancy. The adaptive changes during the gravid period are designed to support maternal and fetal well-being during the special stresses of fetal growth and parturition Peak.
Objective: This study aimed to know the effect of pregnancy on peak expiratory flow rate in comparison with non-pregnant Iraqi women.
Method: This study was conducted on 255 healthy female at their reproductive ages , made up of 60 pregnant female in 1st trimester , 65 in 2nd trimester , 60 in 3rd trimester and 70 non pregnant as control group.
Results: There were a significant negative relation b

The Correlation Between Salmonella typhi Associated Gallstone Formation and Gallbladder Cancer
...Show More Authors

The current research focused on the detection of Salmonella typhi and its relationship with the formation of gallstone and gall bladder cancer. Samples were collected from patients aged between 32-67 years (males and females) in Mosul city hospitals. The samples included 30gallbladder fresh tissues from patients suffering from gallstone and 20 formalinfixed-paraffin embedded (FFPE) gallbladder tissue from patients confirmed with gallbladder cancer. The results showed that 33% S. typhi isolates were diagnosed from the tissue samples using conventional methods, biochemical tests and Vitek2. All fresh tissues samples gave positive PCR results for the presence of FliC-d and CdtB genes and 46% positi

Modeling and Forecasting Periodic Time Series data with Fourier Autoregressive Model
...Show More Authors

Most frequently used models for modeling and forecasting periodic climatic time series do not have the capability of handling periodic variability that characterizes it. In this paper, the Fourier Autoregressive model with abilities to analyze periodic variability is implemented. From the results, FAR(1), FAR(2) and FAR(2) models were chosen based on Periodic Autocorrelation function (PeACF) and Periodic Partial Autocorrelation function (PePACF). The coefficients of the tentative model were estimated using a Discrete Fourier transform estimation method. FAR(1) models were chosen as the optimal model based on the smallest values of Periodic Akaike (PAIC) and Bayesian Information criteria (PBIC). The residual of the fitted models was diagn
