New polymers were prepared from a monomer (5-vinyl-1H-tetrazole), which was prepared from acrylonitrile with sodium azide in the presence of ZnCl2.Another monomer (Methyl acrylate) was also used. Co-monomers were polymerized usingBPO as initiator. The second step was the preparation of copoly acid hydrazide from the reaction of compound2 with hydrazine hydrate, followed by the reaction with carbon disulphide in the presence of KOH to obtain copoly (5-subs.-2-mercapto-1,3,4-thiadiazole). Next,compound4 was reacted with chloroacetyl chloride to yield compound4 5 which was reacted with (hydrazine hydrate , phenyl hydrazine and 2,4-di nitro phenyl hydrazine) as shown in scheme(1). Physical properties of all the prepared copolymers were characterized by FT-IR and, in certain cases,by1HNMR spectroscopy.
Twelve compounds containing a sulphur- or oxygen-based heterocyclic core, 1,3- oxazole or 1,3-thiazole ring with hydroxy, methoxy and methyl terminal substituent, were synthesized and characterized. The molecular structures of these compounds were performed by elemental analysis and different spectroscopic tequniques. The liquid crystalline behaviors were studied by using hot-stage optical polarizing microscopy and differential scanning calorimetry. All compounds of 1,4- disubstituted benzene core with oxazole ring display liquid crystalline smectic A (SmA) mesophase. The compounds of 1,3- and 1,4-disubstituted benzene core with thiazole ring exhibit exclusively enantiotropic nematic liquid crystal phases.

In this work, Bi2O3 was deposited as a thin film of different thickness (400, 500, and 600 ±20 nm) by using thermal oxidation at 573 K with ambient oxygen of evaporated bismuth (Bi) thin films in a vacuum on glass substrate and on Si wafer to produce n-Bi2O3/p-Si heterojunction. The effect of thickness on the structural, electrical, surface and optical properties of Bi2O3 thin films was studied. XRD analysis reveals that all the as deposited Bi2O3 films show polycrystalline tetragonal structure, with preferential orientation in the (201) direction, without any change in structure due to increase of film thickness. AFM and SEM images are used to investigate the influences of film thickness on surface properties. The optical measur

Metal oxides (MO) alloy of (60%Ni3O4 40%-Co3O4 ) have been functionalized with multiwall carbon nanotubes (F-MWCNTs) to produce (F-MWCNTs/MO) nanocomposite (E2) and mixed with CoPc to yield (F-MWCNT/CoPc/MO) (E3). These composites were investigated using different analytical and spectrophotometric methods such as 1H-NMR (0-18 ppm), FTIR spectroscopy in the range of (400-4000cm-1), powder X-rays diffraction (PXRD, 2θ o = 10-80), Raman spectroscopy (0-4000 cm-1), and UV-Visib

Show MoreNovel bidentate Schiff bases having nitrogen-sulphur donor sequence was synthesized from condensation of racemate camphor, (R)-camphor and (S)-camphor with Methyl hydrazinecarbodithioate (SMDTC). Its metal complexes were also prepared through the reaction of these ligands with silver and bismuth salts. All complexes were characterized by elemental analyses and various physico-chemical techniques. These Schiff bases behaved as uninegatively charged bidentate ligands and coordinated to the metal ions via ?-nitrogen and thiolate sulphur atoms. The NS Schiff bases formed complexes of general formula, [M(NS)2] or [M(NS)2.H2O] where M is BiIII or AgI, the expected geometry is octahedral for Bi(III) complexes while Ag(I) is expected to oxidized t

The copolymer composition has been determined by elemental analysis. The monomer reactivity ratios have been calculated by the Kelen-Tudos and Finman-Ross graphical procedures . The derived reactivity ratios (r1 , r2 ) are : (0.51 , 4.85) for (VP / AA ) systems and (0.34 , 7.58) for (VP , MMA) systems , and found the reactivity ratios of the monomer AA , MMA is mor than the monomer VP in the copolymerization of (VP / AA) and (VP /MMA) systems respectly . The reactivity ratios values were used for microstructures calculation.
This work reports the synthesis and characterization of some Co(111), Ni(11), Cu(11), Zn(l 1), Cd(1 1) and Hg(11) chelates of the new benzothia-zolylazo Ligand ( 5-Me-BTAC ) . The compounds were Characterized by IR , electronic spectroscopy, magnetic susceptibility ,elemental analysis and molar conductance measurements . The elemental analysis suggest the formula [ ML2 ] x.nH2O where x=Cl , n=1 for M= Co(111) and x=o , n=o for the remaining metal ions Electronic spectra and magnetic susceptibility data has supported the proposed octahedral geometry of Co(111) Ni(11) and Cu(1 I) Complexes. Conductivity measurements refer to nonionic structure of these Complexes except of Co(111) .
A series of new copolyimides containing pendant 1,3,4-oxadiazole moiety were synthesized via multisteps. In the first step five N-(5-substituted-1,3,4-oxadiazole-2-yl)maleamic acids were prepared via reaction of maleic anhydride with 2-amino-5-substituted-1,3,4-oxadiazoles. The obtained amic acids were dehydrated in the second step affording the corresponding N-(5-substituted-1,3,4-oxadiazole-2-yl) maleimides. In the third step the newly synthesized maleimides were introduced successfully in free radical copolymerization reaction with four vinylic monomers including acrylo nitrile, methacrylonitrile, methyl acrylate and methyl meth acrylate respectively producing twelve new copolymers having different physical properties which may serve
