Using Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (Ndvi) To Assessment The Changes Of Vegetations Cover In Surrounding Area Of Himreen Lake

The study area lies in the eastern part of Iraq, within Diyala and small parts of Salah Al-Din and Sulamanyah Governorates. The eastern boundary of the map represents Iraqi-Iranian International borders; it covers about 7001 Km2.The present study depends on two scenes of Thematic Mapper (TM5) data of Landsat and one scene of Multi-Spectral Scanner (MSS) data of Landsat, these data are subset and corrected within the ERDAS 9.2 software using UTM N38 projection. Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) was adopted as practical tool for monitoring the surrounding area of Himreen Lake. The obtained result shows the distributions of NDVI for period 1976-1992 were positive pattern of (High vegetation density and Moderate vegetation density) and negative pattern of (Low vegetation density). The distributions of NDVI for period 1992-2010 was negative pattern of (High vegetation density and Low vegetation density) and positive pattern of (Moderate vegetation density).

Assessment of Implant Stability Changes and Success Rate of Narrow Dental Implants

Aims: To assess the success rate and implant stability changes of narrow dental implants (NDIs) during the osseous healing period. Materials and methods: This prospective observational clinical study included 21 patients with narrow alveolar ridge of restricted mesiodistal interdental span who received NDIs. The alveolar ridge width was determined by the ridge mapping technique. Implant stability was measured using Periotest® M immediately after implant insertion then after 4 weeks, 8 weeks and 12 weeks postoperatively. The outcome variables were success rate and implant stability changes during the healing period. The statistical analysis included one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Tukey\'s multiple comparisons test, values < 0.05 w

Hydrochemical Assessment of Groundwater and Some Springs in Qazaniyah Area, Diyala province, East of Iraq

The Qazaniyah study included the analysis of 18 wells and 2 springs for the dry period in October 2018 and the wet period in April 2019, including the analysis of physical and chemical properties and the study of heavy elements (Fe, Zn, Cd, Pb, Ni and Cu).The results showed that the water wells and springs for the two periods are highly mineralized and characterized by low alkalinity and very high hardness. Water was fresh in some wells and salty in the others, whereas it was fresh in the springs. Most of the wells had sodium chloride type, except the wells 12, 7, 6, and 5 which were of Calcium chloride type. The springs for both seasons had calcium chloride type. Based on the World Health Organization criteria , all the well

Stability of the Finite Difference Methods of Fractional Partial Differential Equations Using Fourier Series Approach

The fractional order partial differential equations (FPDEs) are generalizations of classical partial differential equations (PDEs). In this paper we examine the stability of the explicit and implicit finite difference methods to solve the initial-boundary value problem of the hyperbolic for one-sided and two sided fractional order partial differential equations (FPDEs). The stability (and convergence) result of this problem is discussed by using the Fourier series method (Von Neumanns Method).

Molding and simulation sedimentation process using finite difference method
Abstract
The goal of this research is to develop a numerical model that can be used to simulate the sedimentation process under two scenarios: first, the flocculation unit is on duty, and second, the flocculation unit is out of commission. The general equation of flow and sediment transport were solved using the finite difference method, then coded using Matlab software. The result of this study was: the difference in removal efficiency between the coded model and operational model for each particle size dataset was very close, with a difference value of +3.01%, indicating that the model can be used to predict the removal efficiency of a rectangular sedimentation basin. The study also revealed
... Show More

Using Water Quality Index to Assess Drinking Water For AL-Muthana Project

The water quality index is the most common mathematical way of monitoring water characteristics due to the reasons for the water parameters to identify the type of water and the validity of its use, whether for drinking, agricultural, or industrial purposes. The water arithmetic indicator method was used to evaluate the drinking water of the Al-Muthana project, where the design capacity was (40000) m3/day, and it consists of traditional units used to treat raw water. Based on the water parameters (Turb, TDS, TH, SO4, NO2, NO3, Cl, Mg, and Ca), the evaluation results were that the quality of drinking water is within the second category of the requirements of the WHO (86.658%) and the first category of the standard has not been met du

A Study of the Benthic Invertebrates community in Dalmage Lake - Middle of Iraq-

Benthic invertebrates diversity on the Al-Dalmage the Lake in the middle of Iraq, in addition to the some chemical properties was the aim of the present study, for a period from January to the December 2013. Six stations of the lake were chosen for monthly samples collection. The result revealed that the water temperature ranged from (9-34) ◦C. According to the values of salinity (1.5-14.6) ‰ the lake was classified as Brackish, while the pH values were neutral tends to near alkaline and ranged from (7.2- 9). The study showed that the lake were well oxygenated due to the dissolved oxygen values which ranged from 7-12 mg/l. The lake considered as very hard according to the total hardness values which range from (825-6980) CaCo3 mg/l.

Detecting and Monitoring the Vegetal Cover of Karbala Province (Iraq) Using Change Detection Methods

Karbala province was one of the most important areas in Iraq and considered an
economic resource of vegetation such as trees of fruits, sieve and other vegetation.
This research aimed to utilize change detection for investigating the current
vegetation cover at last three decay. The main objectives of this research are collect
a group of studied area (Karbala province) satellite images in sequence time for
the same area, these image captured by Landsat (TM 1995, ETM+ 2005 and
Landsat 8 OLI (Operational Land Imager) 2015. Preprocessing such as atmosphere
correction and rectification has been done. Mosaic model between the parts of
studied area was performing. Gap filling consider being very important step has
