Conclusion Empirical Equations of Asymmetry Parameter for Magic Nuclei in N for()α,n Reaction of Incident Neutron Energy (14.5 MeV)
...Show More Authors

In this study, the magic nuclei is divided into two groups, one of them is light group and the other is middle group, it was calculated shell corrections for all nuclei, and also it was concluded the relationship between cross sections for nuclear reactions ()α,n and the mass number (A) for all nuclei to incident neutrons (14.5 MeV). We found empirical equations to asymmetry parameter (N-Z)/A as function of mass number and for that two groups: for A=38 to A=40 light nuclei.()0534.10263.0+−=−AAZN for A=50 to A=89 middle nuclei. Determination the Concentration Elements of Cultivation Media (Peat Moss, Perlite and Hormone) Using X-ray Fluorescence Technique
...Show More Authors

The concentration of elements were analyzed of twelve cultivation medium (Peat moss, Perlite and Hermon) selected from Iraqi markets using X-ray fluorescence techniques. The analytical results show that the cultivation medium contained high concentration of (Na, Al, Si, S, K, Ca, Fe) and low concentration of (Mg, P, Cl, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn). The samples also contained trace concentration of (Ge, As, Se, Br, Sr, Y, Mo, Cd, I, Hg, Pb, U). The results were compared using atomic absorption spectrophotometric technique for measuring the concentration of (K, Ca, Cu, Mn, Zn, Pb).

The Results showed that there is significant difference in the concentration of each element in most of the samples. The concentrations of elements a

Predicting Biochemical Oxygen Demand at the Inlet of Al-Rustumiya Wastewater Treatment Plant Using Different Mathematical Techniques
...Show More Authors

Water quality planning relies on Biochemical Oxygen Demand BOD. BOD testing takes five days. The Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is increasingly used for water resource forecasting. This work designed a PSO technique for estimating everyday BOD at Al-Rustumiya wastewater treatment facility inlet. Al-Rustumiya wastewater treatment plant provided 702 plant-scale data sets during 2012-2022. The PSO model uses the daily data of the water quality parameters, including chemical oxygen demand (COD), chloride (Cl-), suspended solid (SS), total dissolved solids (TDS), and pH, to determine how each variable affects the daily incoming BOD. PSO and multiple linear regression (MLR) findings are compared, and their perfor

Evaluation of polyurethane and polyurethane /polyvinyl chloride blend coatings on steel as corrosion protection using EIS technique
...Show More Authors

This paper was aimed to evaluate the polyurethane (PU) and polyurethane/polyvinyl chloride (90 wt. % / 10 wt. %) as organic coating of carbon steel substrate against marine environment (3.5 wt.% NaCl aqueous solution) as a severe corrosion environment . The electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and fitting impedance data by ZsimpWin 3.22 software were used to estimate the physical barrier of the samples for different exposure times. Different equivalent electrical circuits were proposed for the physical barrier at different immersion times to get appropriate fitting .Both PU and PU/PVC coatings showed excellent corrosion protection ability for steel .The PU/PVC coating showed better protection and stability than PU coating against

Ability of Rhizobium leguminosarum inoculum to improve fava beans (Vicia faba) growth and produce some hydrolytic enzyme
...Show More Authors

Biological experiment was performed (with Complete Random Design (CRD)) by using sterile and non-sterile soil, to investigate Rhizobium leguminosarum isolate ability to enhance fava beans (Vicia faba) plant. The experiment includes: control group (C), fertilizer treatment as group 1 (F), and Rhizobium leguminosarum inoculum treatments as group 2 (R). Fava beans seeds were planted in pots filled with 5 Kg soil (sterile and non-sterile), and after seven weeks of germination, length and weight of plant vegetative part and plant root were measured. The ability of Rhizobium leguminosarum isolate to produce hydrolytic enzymes (chitinase, pectinase, protease, and lipase) was studied. The results show that the

Influence of Thermal Radiation and MHD on the Boundary Layer Flow Due to an Exponentially Stretching Sheet
...Show More Authors

In this paper, the effect of thermal radiation and magnetic field on the boundary layer flow and heat transfer of a viscous fluid due to an exponentially stretching sheet is proposed. The governing boundary layer equations are reduced to a system of ordinary differential equations. The homotopy analysis method (HAM) is employed to solve the velocity and temperature equations.

Well-Controlled Generation Process of Bimetallic Ag//Au Colloidal Nanoparticles by Non-Thermal Plasma DC Glow Discharge
...Show More Authors

In this paper, an inexpensive, simple and well-accurate process of the generation of bimetallic silver Ag//gold Au core//shell is colloidal metal nanoparticles (MNPs). This is achieved via an atmospheric pressure non-thermal plasma glow discharge between two electrodes. One of these electrodes is a capillary tube placing over solution about (1 cm) that acts as the cathode, while the other electrode is a metal disk immersed in the solution and acts as an anode. Glow discharge process carried out at room temperature using a home-made cell with (6 KV) applied voltage and direct current (DC) about (1.8 mA) for different discharge periods. A wide range of bimetallic Ag//Au colloidal MNPs was rapidly synthesized as a result of non-thermal plas

Preparation and Evaluation of Aceclofenac Solid Dispersion by Fusion Technique and Effervescent Assisted Fusion Technique: Comparative Study
...Show More Authors

Solid dispersion (SD) is one of the most widely used methods to resolve issues accompanied by poorly soluble drugs. The present study was carried out to enhance the solubility and dissolution rate of Aceclofenac (ACE), a BCS class II drug with pH-dependent solubility, by the SD method. Effervescent assisted fusion technique (EFSD) using different hydrophilic carriers (mannitol, urea, Soluplus®, poloxamer 188, and poloxamer 407) in the presence of an effervescent base (sodium bicarbonate and citric acid) in different drug: carrier: effervescent base ratio and the conventional fusion technique (FSD) were used to prepare ACE SD. Solubility, dissolution rate, Fourier transformation infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), PowderX-ray diffraction

Cytotoxic Assay of Nigella sativa Leaf Callus Extract (Thymol) on Hep-2 Cell Line Using ELISA Assay
...Show More Authors

Extract from cell culture of medicinal plant like Nigella sativa have been assessed for its cytotoxic properties. Thymol is likely responsible for the theraputic effects of  Nigella sativa leaf callus extract. In this short study the inhibitory effect of Nigella sativa leaf callus extract (Thymol) has been studied on Human Lorgnx Epidrmoid Carcinoma (Hep-2) cell line during different exposure period of time (24, 48 and 72 hrs.) using different concentration of the extract (1000, 500, 400, 300, 200 and 100 µg/ml). The optical density of the Hep-2 cells has been readed on 492 nm wave length. Thymol –induced cytotoxicity was (500 µg/ml) which inhibit cell growing compared to the control and this
