The present work included morphological, anatomical, and palynological
characters for the new species Acaalypha australis L. specimens, which belong to
the family Euphorbiaceae. The species recorded in the study for the first time in
Iraq. The plants of this species are annual herbs with green, striated or sub –
polygonal stem, and branched near bases, Leaves are simple spirally alternate and
lanceolate in shape. Flowers are unisexual, arranged in the axial of distinct leafy and
cordate bracts, female flower arranged at the bracts bases and each flower with
trileafed perianth and superior ovary with trilobed stylar stigma which has dense and
coiled stigmatic hairs. Male flowers are arranged as a mixed verticellate
inflorescence and enclosed by tetraleafed perianth. Each perianth leaf is similar to
that of the female flowers. Each male flower has eight free stamens, each with two
separated anther sac. Pollen are spherical and belong to the small size and they are
tri-tetra-colporate with vague sculpturing. Anatomicaly, section of root and stem
characterized the presence of secondary growth and vascular cambium, in addition
to collenchyma and seclerenchyma as a supported tissue. Druses crystals are also
present in the epidermal and cortical cells. Vertical section of leaves are
characterized by similarity of tissue layers of petiole and leaf midribe, and presence
of oil bodies within the mesophyll.
The study included general survey of some districts of Iraq in order to determinate new distribution areas for 33 species of the genus salvia L. ,new collections obtained , new locations for many species recorded. Observed specimens in most Iraqi herbaria were studies and identified. ,the flowering period were also studied

This study presented the first recorded of the banded garden spider Argiope trifasciata and described for the first time in Baghdad city, Iraq. The specimens were collected from Al-Rashidiya sub-district north of Baghdad city on 26/ November/ 2021 (7:00 am- 6:00 pm) from fruit gardens (orange and apricot trees) and agriculture lands (palm trees, crops of wheat and vegetables). Five species of Trogoderma Berthold are reported from Iraq. These are: I inclus,n LeCont. T.
granarium Everts, T. variable Ballion. I. bactrianum Zantiev and T. irroraturn Reitter. A key
to the species is presented, with redeseriptions and illustrations of all species.
A total of 54 abu mullet Planiliza abu (Heckel, 1843) were collected from two stations (north and south stations) along the Euphrates River near Samawa City, Al-Muthanna province and were examined during the period from October 2016 till September 2017 for parasites. Six out of 35 examined fishes from the north station (17.1%) and one out of 19 examined fishes (5.3%) from south station were infected with the microcotylid Solostamenides paucitesticulatus Kritsky & Öktener, 2015. The parasite was illustrated and described, and it is considered as a new record for the parasitic fauna of fishes of Iraq.

The examination of gills of the common carp Cyprinus carpio revealed the presence of two species of the family Trichodinidae belonging to the genus Dipartiella (Raabe, 1959) Stein, 1961 namely D. indiana Saha and Bandyopadhyay, 2017 and D. kazubski Mitra and Bandyopadhyay, 2009 for the first time in Iraq from Al-Graiat location on the Tigris River at Baghdad city. This also represents the first record of the genus Dipartiella from fishes of Iraq. The descriptions and measurements of these two parasite species as well as their illustrations were given.
The current investigation included study of leaf surface epidermis beside indumentum for the species Galium aparine L., G. ceratopodum Boiss, G. setaceum Lam., G. spurium L., and G. tricornatum Dandy, the study showed that paracytic type of stomatal complex is the only type occur in leaf. This study has been focused on the detection of phenolic compound in aerial parts (stem and leaves)of the species belonging the genus Arabis L.
