The effect of Serratia marcescens protease on human lymphocytes transformation
...Show More Authors

Fifteen blood samples were collected from healthy males and females (6 males &
9 females), average age (21-34 years) in heparinized sterile tubes. The extracellular
protease was extracted from a clinical isolate of Serratia marcescens that was
isolated from a patient suffering from urinary tract infection taken from the Central
Health Laboratory. The extracted protease was purified partial by two steps,
precipitation with 30-55% saturation of ammonium sulfate following with dialysis
and ion exchange chromatography DEAE-cellulose. The protease concentration was
0.15 mg/ml. Two concentration 0.258g/ml and 0.58/ml of protease were prepared
and applied in current study. Lymphocyte transformation test using whole blood was
used in order to study the effect of protease concentrations on human lymphocyte
transformation. The results show that these were highly significant differences (P <
0.05) between control samples and lymphocytes stimulating with
Phytohemagglutinin (PHA) and between control sample and 0.58g/ml protease,;
while there was no significant differences (P < 0.05) between control sample and
0.25 8g/ml protease concentration . That is mean that the higher concentrations of
protease have the same effect of PHA on human lymphocyte transformation and it is
better in effect on human lymphocyte transformation than the lowest concentration.

Abstract
The improvement of the mechanical soil characteristics of jet grouting technique is very attractive. The jet grouted soil cement columns in soft is a complicated issue because it depends on a number of factors such as, soil nature, mixture, influence among soil and grouting materials, jetting force of nozzle, jet grouting and water flow rate, rotation and lifting speed. This paper discusses the estimation of shear strength parameters of soil-cement column (soilcrete) in soft clayey soil based on the relationships between the unconfined compressive and split tensile strength for the soilcrete and the effect of the jet grouting and water pressure in the values of cohesion and internal f
... Studying the Effect of Volume Fraction of Glass Fibers on the Thermal Conductivity of the Polymer Composite Materials
...Show More Authors

In this study the effect of fiber volume fraction of the glass fiber on the thermal conductivity of the polymer composite material was studied. Different fiber volume fraction of glass fibers were used (3%, 6%, 9%, 12%, and 15%). Specimens were made from polyester which reinforced with glass fibers .The fibers had two arrangements according to the direction of the thermal flow. In the first arrangement the fibers were parallel to the direction of the thermal flow, while the second arrangement was perpendicular; Lee's disk method was used for testing the specimens. The experimental results proved that the values of the thermal conductivity of the specimens was higher when the fibers arranged in parallel direction than that when the fibers

The use of image analysis to study the effect of moisture content on the physical properties of grains
...Show More Authors
Abstract
Designing machines and equipment for post-harvest operations of agricultural products requires information about their physical properties. The aim of the work was to evaluate the possibility of introducing a new approach to predict the moisture content in bean and corn seeds based on measuring their dimensions using image analysis using artificial neural networks (ANN). Experimental tests were carried out at three levels of wet basis moisture content of seeds: 9, 13 and 17%. The analysis of the results showed a direct relationship between the wet basis moisture content and the main dimensions of the seeds. Based on the statistical analysis of the seed material, it was shown that the characteristics
... Show More

Experimental Study of the Effect of Tack Coats on Interlayer Bond Strength of Pavement
...Show More Authors

The performance and lifetime of the flexible asphalt pavement are mainly dependent on the interfacial bond strength between layer courses. To enhance the bond between layers, adhesive materials, such as tack coats, are used. The tack coat itself is a bituminous material, which is applied on an existing relatively non-absorbent surface to ensure a strong bond between the old and newly paved layer. The primary objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of various types of tack coat materials on interlayer bond strength and to determine the optimal application rate for each type. The tack coat types used in this paper were RC-70, RC-250, and CSS-1h. Both laboratory-prepared and field-constructed hot mix asphalt concrete pavements usin
