Extraction and Purification of Vibrio Cholerae Enterotoxin and Study its Cytopathic Effect on Some Mice Organs

Vibrio cholerae enterotoxin was extracted by cooling centrifugation and filtration
with milipore filter (0.22um) and was purified by using Sephacryl –S- 6 gel
filtration,the content of protein was estimated . The results showed protein
concentration was 28.5 microgram/ml,the present of enterotoxin was detected by
infant suckling mouse method.
.The cytopathic effect of enterotoxin was studied by injecting a number of mice with
purified enterotoxin, It was found caused shortening the villi of the intestine at
concentration 55 and 45 ug /ml of purified enterotoxin, while the effect on liver
showed degenerative change with necrosis at 55 ug/ml of enterotoxin and caused
necrosis and infiltration of inflammatory cells at 45 ug /ml, the effect on spleen
tissue was represented by widening of white pulp, and reduction or disappearance of
red pulp also inflammatory cells wre found i.e. lymphocyte and hypoplasia of white
pulp at the two concentrations of the enterotoxin .

Assay of Orphenadrine Citrate in Pharmaceuticals via Extraction-Spectrophotometric Method

An extraction-spectrophotometric technique has been applied and approved for the estimation of orphenadrine citrate in the presence of paracetamol in a binary synthetic mixture and in combined drugs. The procedure is built on the formation of a soluble red colour orphenadrine citrate – eriochrom black T (EBT) ion pair complex at pH 1.40, while the paractamol not paired. The produced red colour ion-pair complex was extracted with chloroform and showed maximum absorption at 509 nm. Estimation of Vitamin C and the Fructose Levels in Some Medicinal Plants and their Effects on Iron Bioavailability in Rats

In the current research, experiments were conducted to evaluate the effects of aqueous extracts of Acacia senegal (Gum Arabic, GA), Spinacia oleracea (spinach), Zea mays (corn), and Capsicum annuum (red chili pepper) on iron and ferritin levels in rats. Extraction of Essential Oil from Iraqi Eucalyptus Camadulensis Leaves by Water Distillation Methods

The extraction of Eucalyptus oil from Iraqi Eucalyptus Camadulensis leaves was studded using water distillation methods. The amount of Eucalyptus oil has been determined in a variety of extraction temperature and agitation speed. The effect of water to Eucalyptus leaves (solvent to solid) ratio and particle size of Eucalyptus leaves has been studied in order to evaluate the amount of Eucalyptus oil. The optimum experimental condition for the Eucalyptus oil extraction was established as follows: 100 C extraction temperature, 200 rpm agitation speed; 0.5 cm leave particle size and 6: 1 ml: g amount of water to eucalyptus leaves Ratio.

Extraction of Penicillin V from Simulated Fermentation Broth by Liquid-Liquid Membrane Technique

Liquid-liquid membrane extraction technique, pertraction, using three types of solvents (methyl isobutyl ketone, n-butyl acetate, and n-amyl acetate) was used for recovery of penicillin V from simulated fermentation broth under various operating conditions of pH value (4-6) for feed and (6-8) for receiver phase, time (0-40 min), and agitation speed (300-500 rpm) in a batch laboratory unit system. The optimum conditions for extraction were at pH of 4 for feed, and 8 for receiver phase, rotation speed of 500 rpm, time of 40 min, and solvent of MIBK as membrane, where more than 98% of penicillin was extracted.
