Isolation and Identification of Vancomycin-Resistant Enterococcus Faecalis

One hundred thirty - five clinical specimens of urine, blood, teeth root canal and burns were obtained from patients in hospitals of Baghdad. The specimens were cultured on Pfizer Selective Enterococcus agar to purify Enterococci isolates. 20 E. faecalis isolates were identified biochemically by growing in 10Cº, 45Cº, 6.5% NaCl, at pH 9.6 and confirmed by VITEK. Determination of Vancomycin-Resistant E. faecalis isolates were done by the minimum inhibitory concentrations [MICs] using agar dilution method. Seventeen E. faecalis isolates were determined as Vancomycin-Resistant and Intermediate Resistant.

Isolation of Some Microbial Agents that cause Acute Gastroenteritis in Children

Background: Childhood diarrhea remains one of the leading causes of preventable mortality and disease burden throughout the developing world. It generated by several pathologic states, most commonly infections. Although the human large intestine ordinarily harbors a huge microbial population, most bacteria, protozoan, and viral agents of diarrhea are not members of this normal gut flora, but are aquired through contaminated food or water.
Objective: This study was conducted to investigate the main microbial causative agent of diarrhea in children below five years of age, and to evaluate the relationship between the incidence of diarrhea with sex and age group of the patients.
Patients and Methods: Total of two hundred twenty three

Isolation of some microorganisms from Iraqi patients with chronic maxillary sinusitis.

Background: Maxillary sinusitis is one of the most common infections of humans. Sinusitis can be defined as an inflammation of the membrane lining of any sinus, especially one of the
paranasal sinuses.
Objective: To determine the causative microorganisms of chronic maxillary sinusitis.
Patients: Forty five chronic sinusitis patients were involved in the present study.
Methods: Sampling method were sinus specimens (aspiration or injection aspiration).
Results: Haemophilus species, Streptococcus pneumoniae (S.pneumoniae) and Moraxella catarrhalis (M.catarrhalis) were the most frequent isolates; in addition Penicillium and
Cladosporium species were isolated from some chronic sinusitis patients.
Conclusion: Chr

Isolation of Alkaloids from Papaver rhoeas (Papaveraceae) Wildly Grown in Iraq

The plant Papaver rhoeas ,which belongs to family Papaveraceae and known as common poppy is wildly grown in Iraq .It was used in traditional medicine in wide range of diseases including inflammation, diarrhea, sleep disorders, treatment of cough, analgesia, and also to reduce the withdrawal signs of opioid addiction.

The project provide the first comprehensive research done in Iraq to study the phytochemical and the methods of extraction and separation of alkaloids from Papaver rhoeas wildly grown in Iraq .The plant was harvested in April 2019 from Zurbatiya is an Iraqi town located at the northeast of Waist province in Iraq. The collected plant was washed thoroughly, dries under shade, and grounding in a mechani

EFFET OF SOME ISOLATION FROM FUGI BAGHDAD HOSPITAL ON PHYSIOLOGY OF LIVER, KIDNEY AND TESTIS IN ALBINO MALE MICE.: EFFET OF SOME ISOLATION FROM FUGI BAGHDAD HOSPITAL ON PHYSIOLOGY OF LIVER, KIDNEY AND TESTIS IN ALBINO MALE MICE.

Some types of the fungus Aspergillus were isolated from some hospitals in the city of Baghdad (Imam Ali Hospital and Sadr General Hospital). The samples were taken by Transport media at a rate of three replicates of each place isolated from samples from different places within the hospital (waste, baths, the sick beds, corridors and room floors) for the purpose of isolating and diagnosing the fungus on the Czapeck Dox Agar media. It was noticed that the spread rate of fungus Aspergillus was 70% compared to other species that have emerged during the isolation process of the Sabouraud's Dextrose Agar media. The species A.niger (56.25%) was considered the most common type of fungus visible during the isolation process of the Imam Ali Hospit

FACE IDENTIFICATION USING BACK-PROPAGATION ADAPTIVE MULTIWAVENET

Face Identification is an important research topic in the field of computer vision and pattern recognition and has become a very active research area in recent decades. Recently multiwavelet-based neural networks (multiwavenets) have been used for function approximation and recognition, but to our best knowledge it has not been used for face Identification. This paper presents a novel approach for the Identification of human faces using Back-Propagation Adaptive Multiwavenet. The proposed multiwavenet has a structure similar to a multilayer perceptron (MLP) neural network with three layers, but the activation function of hidden layer is replaced with multiscaling functions. In experiments performed on the ORL face database it achieved a

Genders identification using mandibular canines(Iraqi study)

Background: This study aimed to determine the gender of a sample of Iraqi adults using the mesio-distal width of mandibular canines, inter-canine width and standard mandibular canine index, and to determine the percentage of dimorphism as an aid in forensic dentistry. Materials and methods: The sample included 200 sets of study models belong to 200 subjects (100 males and 100 females) with an age ranged between 17-23 years. The mesio-distal crown dimension was measured manually, from the contact points for the mandibular canines (both sides), in addition to the inter-canine width using digital vernier. Descriptive statistics were obtained for the measurements for both genders; paired sample t-test was used to evaluate the side difference of

pvl-carried methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus isolated from hospitalized patients in Baghdad, Iraq

Out of 150 different specimens, 67 S. aureus isolate were isolated. However, 16sRNA gene was located only in 60 isolates. Moreover, mecA gene was located in 48 isolates; thereby MRSA covered 80% of all S. aureus isolates. Of considerable interest, pvl gene was detected in only six isolates (10%). Hence, the present work emphasizes the notion suggested that pvl is not an indicative of CA-MRSA.

tudy of the Role of the Outer Membrane Proteins of Serratia marcescence in Resistant to Antibiotics

After diagnostic tests on ten isolates of S. marcescence, were made an examination of sensitivity to various antibiotics and checking the ability to produce β-lactamase of all isolates.        The outer membrane protein quantity was determined in μg/cm3 for all isolates. The results showed that S. marcescence have antibiotic multiresistant and all isolates had the ability to produce β-lactamase and its resistance may arise from more than two mechanisms like overproduction of antibiotic inactivation enzymes and the decrease of permeability by outer membrane protein.
