New Approach for an On-Line Turbidimetric Determination of Cadmium (II) in Different River Water Via the Use of A homemade Ayah 6SX1-T-2D Solar-Continuous Flow Injection Analyser

A newly developed analytical method characterized by its speed and sensitivity for
the determination of cadmium (II) in aqueous solution in three randomly chosen
samples from river water at different locations via turbidimetric measurement by
Ayah 6SX1-T-2D Solar - CFI analyser. The method is based on the formation of
yellowish white precipitate for the complex Cd3[Fe(CN)6]2 by direct reaction of the
cadmium (II) with potassium hexacyano ferrate (III) in aqueous medium. Turbidity
was measured via the reflection of incident light that collides on the surfaces
precipitated particles at 0-180o. Chemical and physical parameters were investigated.
Linear dynamic of cadmium (II) is ranged from 0.05-12 mmol.L-1, with correlation
coefficient r = 0.9951. The limit of detection 25.29 ng/ sample from the step wise
dilution for the minimum concentration in the linear dynamic range of the
calibration graph with RSD % lower than 1.5% for 8 mmol.L-1 (n=5) concentration
of cadmium (II). The method was applied successfully for the determination of
cadmium (II) in three river samples. A comparison was made between the proposed
method of analysis with the classical method (HANNA instrument for turbidity
measurement) using the standard additions method via the use of ANOVAtreatments.
It was noticed that there is a significant difference at α=0.05 between the
two methods at level < 0.05 was obtained. On that basis the new method can be
accepted as an alternative analytical method.

The Impact of Political Stability and Macroeconomic Variables on Foreign Direct Investment in Turkey

Foreign direct investment (FDI) is one of the most practical types of foreign investment. FDI contributes to job creation, foreign exchange earnings and national income escalation, improving semi-skill and skilled labor. Based on our knowledge, this paper is the first study attempting to investigate the effect of political stability on the FDI in Turkey using an econometric approach. Achieving this objective, a co-integration analysis was conducted between the FDI and its determinants in the short-run and long-run including “macroeconomic indicators” and “Political Stability (PS)” in Turkey. Using annual data from 1974 to 2017 via Auto-Regressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model. The results confirm the positive correlation betwe

The effect of surlactin produced by Lactobacillus acidophilus on eye infectious bacteria in rabbits

Twenty five vaginal swabs from outpatients' healthy women were collected from Kamal Al-Samarai Hospital, Baghdad, to isolate and identify of Lactobacillus acidophilus. Three isolates were diagnosed as L. acidophilus which represents 15% of the total number of lactic acid bacterial (LAB) isolates; other LAB types represent 65% (20 isolates). The ability of L. acidophilus to produce surlactin was detected after measuring its biological activity to inhibit the adhesion of biofilm formed by Pseudomonas aeruginosa to surfaces using test tube method. It was found that all isolates were able to produce surlactin but the activity of surlactin was varying in each isolate. Surlactin produced by isolates 1 and 13 was the most effective. Biological appl

The effect of tooth shape ratio on mandibular incisors arrangement in Iraqi adult subjects

Background: This study aimed to assess the effect of tooth shape ratio on mandibular incisor arrangement. Materials and methods: The sample included dental casts of some dental students and orthodontic patients having Class I dental and skeletal patterns with normal occlusion and severe crowding. The sample was divided into two groups according to the severity of crowding into: group I had Class I normal occlusion with mild or no crowded mandibular dentition and group II had Class I malocclusion with severe crowded mandibular dentition. Each group comprising of 40 subjects (20 males and 20 females). The mesio-distal and facio-lingual crown diameters were measured manually for each cast using modified vernier caliper gauge. Descriptive sta

The Effect of Chronic liver diseases on homocysteine and vitamin B12 in patients serum

Background: Homocysteine (Hcy) is a sulfur containing amino acid that is formed as an intermediary in methionine metabolism. Raised plasma homocysteine levels, which may contribute
to the increased risk of chronic liver disease.
Patients and Methods: Sixty two patients with chronic liver disease and 26 healthy individuals were included as normal controls for the study. The HPLC system was used for the determination of Hcy and vitamin B12.
Results: A highly significant Hcy concentrations were noted in all patients with cirrhosis, chronic hepatitis or liver mass. There was a trendency towards higher Hcy concentrations in more advanced stages of liver disease. The study showed that the concentrations of tot

The effect of mental speed drills on some visual abilities in shish weapon players

Achieving high achievement in the sport of fencing requires thinking, awareness and visual tracking, as visual tracking is one of the important visual abilities that a fencing player needs and is considered one of the special visual abilities as it contributes and helps in the correct motor, mental and mental performance and gives the fencing the ability to perfect and accomplished performance in training and competition. Where the research problem lies in the weak skill performance of the fencing players as a result of the weakness in possessing visual and mental abilities. The two researchers used the experimental method in a controlled manner (experimental and control groups) with a pre and post-test. The research community was identifie

External treatments for the space between the institute and the contrast in contemporary theater

Theater is a renewed art until this moment, and it does not stray from its components from life and its spaces in general, but rather is derived from them according to characteristics and directions intended to differ based on finding other, more effective solutions, Therefore, the research entitled (Extractive treatments of the space between tradition and contrast in contemporary theater) consists of four chapters. The first chapter came under the title (the methodological framework). Where he dealt with the research problem and then the importance of the research and the goal of the research as well as the objective, temporal and spatial limits of the research, In addition to defining the terminology and then finding the procedural ter

Power dissipation and time of breakdown in AC discharge of argon at a low pressure in the frequency range 5-10 kHz

The influence of 5-10 kHz audio frequency on the power dissipation in ac discharge of argon gas was studied experimentally, at pressures 50-80 mTorr and electrodes separation 10 cm (pd range 0.5-0.8 Torr.
cm). The measurements have shown that the discharge behavior in the ac circuit is equivalent to a series RC circuit. It is observed that the variation curve of discharge power P with the frequency f is approximately has a Gaussian shape. It is also observed that the curve of Pm- pd is the inverse of Paschen curve, where Pm is the maximum power in the frequency range. The time of breakdown is estimated from the curve of P- f.

Comparison between Mammography and Breast Ultrasound in the Detection of Breast Cancer in Dense Breast Tissue among a Sample of Iraqi Women
Background: Breast cancer is the most common cancer reported in women worldwide . In Iraq, it is the  most common registered malignancy. Mammography plays a major role in  the early detection of breast cancers. Dense breast parenchyma has been reported to be the most important inherent factor that limits  depiction of breast cancer on mammogram, and often needs supplementary breast ultrasound for complete assessment.
Objectives: To evaluate and compare the diagnostic performance of mammography and ultrasound in the
detection of breast cancer in dense breast tissue.
