The Mishrif Formation is one of the most important formation in oil fields, which is located in southern part of Iraq, and it is of Upper Cretaceous age. Tuba field is located nearly 40 km SW – Basrah city. It is bounded from east by Zubair oil field (5 km distance) and from west by Rumaila (2 km distance). The Tuba oil field is situated between Zubair oil field in the east and Rumaila in the west, and is separated by two depressions.
The rock (core and chips) samples have been collected systematically from cores of Mishrif Formation that are available from stores of southern oil company to prepare thin sections and slides—these slides have been examined by using microscope. These samples have been taken from all parts of the reservoir units of Mishrif, namely, mA, mB1, mB2 units. Twenty-four samples have been applied to the petrophysical tests to measure the porosity and permeability. The water and oil saturations have been identified by consulting the log documents for studied wells (7 wells). Besides, four hundred ten rockslides have been made for identifying the facies and diagenices processes.
Four main facies have been diagnosed at Mishrif Formation (Grainstone, packstone, wackstone and mudstone) which are spread all over the reservoir units. Moreover, the diagentic processes have been identified by using microscope to check the rockslides, which have greatly framed the petrophysical characteristics for Mishrif Formation. These processes include dissolution, all categories of porosity, compaction, cementation, new morphisim and dolomitization.
The results of the reservoir geological model show that Tuba field is an anticline fold which its extension is in (north – northwest), (south- southeast) direction. The results have proved that facies model distribution completely match the facies description in the study. This model contains Grainstone, Packstone, Wackstone and Mudstone.
The oil exports play a vital role in supporting economic development and raise the economic growth. The oil exports can increase the economic growth via three main channels which are supporting the productive, distributive and service sectors; increasing the investment and capital formation; and increasing the employment rate.
However, the oil exports did not have an important role in increasing the economic growth in Iraq. Therefore, it also did not provide the required support to other economic sectors, neither participated in increase the employees’ skills nor increase the investment rate. The biostratigraphy of the Early Cretaceous Mauddud Formation was studied in the Ratawi Oilfield, Basra Governorate, southern Iraq, using integrated borehole data set (core and cutting samples and well logs) in two drilled wells to analyze the biostratigraphy of the formation. In order to reduce hydrostatic pressure in oil wells and produce oil from dead oil wells, laboratory rig was constructed, by injecting LPG through pipe containing mixture of two to one part of East Baghdad crude oil and water. The used pressure of injection was 2.0 bar, which results the hydrostatic pressure reduction around 246 to 222 mbar and flow rate of 34.5 liter/hr fluid (oil-water), at 220 cm injection depth. Effects of other operating parameters were also studied on the behavior of two phase flow and on the production of oil from dead oil wells.

Six samples of Silurian shale from the Ahnet basin were selected for nitrogen adsorption-desorption analysis. Experimental findings showed that all the samples are mainly composed of mesopores with slit-like shaped pores, as well as the Barrett-Joyner-Halenda pore volume ranging from 0.014 to 0.046 cm3/ 100 g, where the lowest value has recorded in the AHTT-1 sample, whereas the highest one in AHTT-6, while the rest samples (AHTT-2, AHTT-3, AHTT-4, AHTT-5) have a similar average value of 0.03 cm3/ 100 g. The present study aimed to explore the antibacterial and antibiofilm activity of flaxseed oil on some locally isolated bacterial pathogens. No inhibitory effect was noticed against Escherichia coli or Enterococcus faecalis. However, variable effects were developed against Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), methicillin sensitive Staphylococcus aureus (MSSA), Klebsiella pneuminae and Staphylococcus epidermidis.
